His syndicator has contracts with radio stations across the country (and with shows other than Rush, Sirius XM), but that's some of the value of a syndication partner... they handle all that. Rush just focuses on being Rush.

That being said, it's not like he couldn't take his show elsewhere if he needed to. Sean Hannity was rumored to be switching from Citadel/ABC to Premiere last year, but he ended up resigning with Citadel.

On the other hand, as we discovered during the Harry Reid Senate Letter last year, Rush is very good friends with Mark Mays, CEO of Premiere Radio Networks' parent company, ClearChannel.

Run for the senate seat in FL Rush; run on your platform. Run on your platform and you will not even 'place'. Practice what you preach or shut up.

Your comment is as ridiculous as the leftists who say that we cannot be "for the troops" unless we've each served in the military.

Well, I’ll be the Second Amendment CZAR with or without BHO appointment! And hey, I’ve never worked for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, don’t have a tax or nanny gate problem. I’m available too! With what BHO is going to do to the medical profession, I’m gonna need a new gig!

Be the first, best, or only (or any combination thereof) at something, and then make sure everyone knows about you.

Really quick and dirty, assume he's single and no deductions, etc. Assume, too, that he's a NYC resident all year.

$400,000,000 for seven years ~ $57,000,000 per year.

Fed Income tax ~ $19,800,000
NY State Tax ~ $3,900,000
NY City Tax ~ $2,000,000
This does not include medicare, sales, real estate, etc taxes. Or the luxury tax on his yachts!

Tax burden for Fed, Stat, and City INCOME taxes is about 45% of gross.

Of that ~10% ($5,900,000) would go to NY and NYC. So living in the low-end Palm Beach area saves him about $5,900,000 PER YEAR. That's a lot of house in Palm Beach!

God help him if he writes another book or gets paid for speaking.

Yes. zer0 is going to limit the pay of the rich. If he does that, who is he going to tax to pay for MO’s next trip to Paris?

If no one (but muckity-muck dimocraps) is allowed to get rich, how is he going to stick it to the rich?

If there are no conservative rich, who will be propagandized as the country’s enemies?

He’s going to ride this horse down, but he’s doing it so fast that even his own children will suffer.

0bozo indeed.

"I thought he was self employed".

IIRC, he owns the production company that negotiates the contract with radio station network(s). He makes his money based on expected profits from advertisers buying time on the show. My guess is that he turns a tidy profit for others. That's why they are willing to pay him well.

Cheap at the price. He entertains and teaches millions of people for hours five days a week.

to Compare, as I recall, Madonna got a comparable recording contract a few years ago and has been almost invisible ever since except on the gossip pages.

He moved to Florida to avoid NY State income taxes (and presumably for the better weather and less blue political climate). He has talked about how the NY Department of Revenue continually harasses him for income tax and he constantly has to prove that he is a resident of Florida.
