President Barack Obama on Thursday tapped four big Democratic Party donors for plum ambassadorships in Europe and Latin America while naming six career diplomats to posts in Africa, the Mideast and the Pacific.

Washington lawyer Howard Gutman, who raised more than $500,000 for Obama's campaign and personally contributed the maximum $4,600 to it, was nominated to be the next U.S. envoy to Belgium, the White House said in a statement.

Gutman also contributed $2,300 to now Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan group that tracks money in politics.

The Chicago “pay to play” game is in full speed ahead mode in Washington. Different faces, some old corruption. You want “some skin in the game”? It’s gonna cost you big bucks!

I think Americans have some sort of quaint notion that our diplomats conduct our foreign affairs in a manner aimed at furthering our national interests. This is obviously not true. Our diplomats are in the bribery business. They extort money from Americans and from foreigners in a naked effort to enrich themselves. They are as corrupt as any communist functionary in China.

Why else would anyone pay $500,000 to get the job?

You’re not alone. My only and treasured consolation is
that God is still on His throne, and prayer.

Most of them certainly do not need the money although I am sure they will take it. Ambassadorships have always been a kind of plum social position to reward rich socialite contributors most especially the ones for UK, France, Italy, etc.

Sure looks like pay to play to me...Now who is going to start investigating it? At least we can expose what we see.

How about doing the same thing with ALL OF THE REMAINING RINOs AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL? Give the eventually approved U.S. Ambassadorship of Venezuela to Senator John McCain! Thanks in advance.
