OOPS! KIDS SEE 'SEX ED': KINDERGARTEN PORNO PEEK (Bloomberg's New York)
NY Post ^ | 6/14/09 | ANGELA MONTEFINISE

Debbie does grade school.

An auditorium full of unsuspecting Brooklyn students -- some as young as 5 years old -- got a surprise lesson in reading, writing and raunchiness on May 29 when hard-core porn was accidentally screened at PS 17 in Williamsburg.

The kindergartners, first-graders and fifth-graders were exposed to a topless woman and sex acts in the 45 seconds the obscene clip played on the jumbo screen -- as shocked teachers screamed, "Don't look at it!" and frantically tried to turn it off.

Finally, one horrified teacher ripped the DVD player's plug out of the wall to silence the smut.

Interesting, because liberals tell us all the time - no big deal.
However, I wonder how many liberal parents were horrified that it wasn’t homosexual sex.
Home school - no wonder its on the rise.

I was the "projectionist" in high school, running an old RCA 16mm film projector. The films were sent to the school after being screened by the DOE, and the kids were all marched to the auditorium to watch the films.

Bringing videos to classroom in a common format such as DVD's is a gamble.

Teachers who don't know how to teach, or, are too lazy to teach, rely too much on DVD's to do their jobs for them. The kids could stay home and watch DVD's....yeah...that's the ticket..."home schooling".

Modern public schools are nothing but indocrination centers for the left.

“Camp Rock,” a Disney Channel movie starring the Jonas Brothers, according to a letter Principal Robert A. Marchi sent home to parents the day of the incident.”

Knowing that they're having 5 year olds spend their time at school watching inane garbage like Jonas Brothers movies isn't much more comforting than knowing we're paying teachers to watch porn when nobody is looking.

The liberal Williamsburg parents are outraged because it WASN’T homosexual sex.

If the school had shown a video of Barney Frank and one of his pages getting after it, the parents would be CHEERING what happened.

*nod* - Or the front-panel... oh, though there are some that play when you INSERT a disk, I’ve never heard of one that auto-plays when the disk is already loaded.

Violence in the public schools ('ripped'), where will it end? LOL

Actually the teachers should have asked one of the 5th graders to stop the DVD, I would bet that anyone of them could have done it faster. I wonder if the DVD had any finger-prints that could be matched? All school employees in my area have their finger-prints on file for check against offender list.

I'm guessing that this movie festival is tied to the last few days of school before summer vacation. Our elementary school holds a "Fun In The Sun" day each year on the next to last day of school. The kids have short-timers and aren't paying attention anyway so I don't have a problem with a movie/fun day.

My player restarts automatically from the point where the disc was last stopped. Just turn it on and the movie plays.

Schools are run by unionized workers. What can you expect? They aren’t teaching the kids how to read, write or do arithmetic.
____________________________________________________________

Well this union teacher does teach kids how to read, write, and do arithmetic. This also goes for my colleagues, who work extremely hard.

Any freeper on here that has worked in the public schools knows that the principal (who had DVD player to begin with) is usually not union.

In our district we fired all the union janitors in my first year. We hired a nonunion company to do the work. The number of incidents of porn being found on computers skyrocketed, and IT was able to show us the times it was accessed on the net. All of it was being done by the night crew. We had to change some security settings and block some address that allowed them to get around our usually good filters.

I worked seven years in a nonunion school. It was a nightmare. Believe it or not the administration (nonunion) is usually responsible for 90% of the stupidity that you see in public schools. Teachers just get the blame.

While I hate my national union leadership with a passion, my local does a great job protecting teachers from the worst of our administrations schemes. It may not seem like it but my local does far more good than harm for our kids, staff, and community.

Btw this isn’t aimed directly at you. This is a common attitude around FR and it allows people to over simplify the problems we face in education.

Truth be told!
And I am a homeschooler. Our teachers were great. Our administration sucks.

They want to sexualize the kids, thats why its OK to make rape jokes about 14 year olds.

The same thing happened several years ago at a black church convention in Chicago. The guy didn’t erase the tape so when the part he wanted to be shown to the audience was over it went into the porno stuff. Some woman sitting next to the lady who told me about it said “ If I new they did that stuff before I got married I would have never got married.”
The guy said he bought the tape from someone off the street and never reviewed it. A few people did believed him.

Yup. . .there was no way that CD was in that player, at that time, by accident. Says a lot about teachers in that they didn’t even check the media before playing.
