DO they actually KNOW it is coming and are trying to use the crisis for their own benefit.

The comment is not necessarily dumb or stupid.
Such a charge is listed on page 2 of the playbook Stalin used to destroy his politcal enemies.

Panetta scooted out of a comfortable D.C. office one step ahead of a federal investigation/Congressional inquiry. Our nation is at risk with people of his background in any federal office.

I would be embarrassed to be a top government official, regardless of party, and make such a ridiculous comment.

Panetta is out of his mind. Cheney doesn't want this country attacked and that's why he criticizes.

If he did want a terrorist attack and believed the administration was incompetent in protecting us, he wouldn't criticize, he would pretend to support the administration's policies.

What are they smokin' there in DC?

I don’t know, even Biden wasn’t dumb enough to bite on this. Bush was constantly criticized on his war on terror. “Experts” were always claiming, “When you kill one terrorist, ten more take his place.” There was constant criticism about U.S. ports not being protected. Yet no one, conservative or liberal said these people were wishing there was an attack to prove their point. If this does not become a major issue in the MSM- or at least Fox- than the country truly is lost.

This douchebag should stay out of politics and do some spying.

The CIA is useless and has been since W decided to take his fathers lead and not purge it of leftists.

And this guy is in charge of the CIA? Wow. A day doesn’t go by that this Administration doesn’t try to divide this country. Remind me. Was Panetta one of those appointments that did pay his taxes?

Their response to criticism is lambasting their critics to the point of bordering on fear-mongering at the expense of national security. Politics over policy. Panetta comments are so reckless, he may actually replace Biden as the chief clown.

What Leon Panetta is doing whether he knows it or not, is laying the foundation for when the next attack on U.S. soil occurs. At that time they will focus on Cheney and trash him as if his wishes had come true, instead of focusing on the increased exposure to the danger that Obama facilitated.

Normally this bumbling stooge is content to be the bag man for whatever sleazy scheme his boss is up to. After the Pelosi faisco, Rahm Emanuel has decided Panitwit needs to earn his keep.

Panetta great at shuffling around "fired" employees.

White House aide Louis Caldera loses job over Manhattan flyover fiasco involving Air Force One

Obama aide who quit after plane flap gets new job

He (Caldera - my FYI insert)) has been hired by longtime Democratic activist John Podesta at the Center for American Progress, where he will be a senior fellow and will focus on higher education and national security, the center announced Thursday.

Podesta, president and CEO of American Progress, is a former chief of staff for President Bill Clinton and was a co-chairman of Obama's transition team. Caldera worked for the Clinton administration as managing director and chief operating officer for the Corporation for National and Community Service and was secretary of the Army.

Leon better worry about Bela since she's been exposed as a liar. Leon had no choice,he would have lost the very people who's job it is to protect him. Rock and hard place, and he's learning every day, yes Leon, there are people who want to kill Americans.
Perhaps your little stunt, trying to drum up some story about Cheney, is going to be your cover when the s*** hits the fan.

Gives ya great confidence in the integrity
of the operations at the CIA, the morale of
CIA employees who are so vitial to our safety
(and dealing with Pelosi’s inmitigated slander
against them), doesn’t it?

It’s exclusively about party and power with
these cretins ... sc*ew the country.

The same people who hoped and prayed we’d be attacked during the eight years of the Bush Administration

And I note that not once in eight years did anyone in the Bush administration say anything so whining and self-pitying as what Panetta said after a couple months in office.

Wasn't Panetta chief of staff of Bill Clinton? And wasn't it Clinton who openly “wished” that 911 had happened on his watch so that he could have had a crisis that, somehow, would redound some glory upon him? Your looking in the wrong direction, Leon.

Panetta is accusing of Cheney of being a traitor, while Cheney has not disputed the good intentions of Obama (I will!) but merely criticized his policies. If the Democrats who call Cheney “divisive” ignore Panetta, they are being hypocrites.

Republicans should demand an apology from Panetta. Dick Cheney should respond in his usual cool but effective manner.
