When President Barack Obama increased unemployment benefits as part of his economic stimulus, he also made some Americans ineligible for hundreds of dollars a month in food stamps.
Under the economic recovery plan, laid-off workers have seen a $25 weekly bump in their unemployment checks as part of a broad expansion of benefits for the poor. But the law did not raise the income cap for food stamp eligibility, so the extra money has pushed some people over the limit.

Milota said he was told that, without the stimulus money, he would have received about $300 a month in food stamps.
How’s that Hope and Change working out?
That should be a bumper sticker.
Just when you thought Obama couldn't do anything right, he comes along with this. Even a blind hog finds an acorn every now and then.
Can anyone convince the administration that tweaking a system that is already broken is not fixing it? Why not let every cup sit on it’s on bottom, get America back to work, and he that doesn’t work...won’t eat. Pretty simple.
In this case, the people who benefited were the ones who needed it the least.
Shhhhhhhhhhh!
Rush had a caller on the air on May 28 talking about trying to short sell her home in central FL. Rush and the lady went through the litany of govt. programs Barry designed to “help”. Bottom line was, unless she missed payments, etc, no help was available.
Bottom line: Barry’s “help” isn’t help.

My sister and B&L are having the same problem. His reduction in hours last fall put them in the position of going $220 a month into their horded up savings to keep things paid. They were trying to sell their house then but now it's even worse, she says, since people don't even look at anything that doesn't qualify for incentives, or so she's told. Another friend had to layoff two people to keep making his own house payment after finding out he wouldn't get any help to refinance or stretch out his house payments. He has some really good names for The One after being a big supporter of him.
How the idiots like HusseinO can, after 45 years of their “war on poverty”, still think they can fix things with a snap of their fingers and a pound of flesh from our butts I don't know. It's like The One can't count past two and failed grade school math. Trillions and trillions and he thinks he can project future costs without cranking in around 15% per year inflation is also insane.
I hope all those people who voted for hope get happier every day until they're actually ready for a change instead of this ‘the same old thing in spades’ The One is handing out.
The only surprise is that AP reported this. It’s looking more and more like the honeymoon is over.
No doubt.
reminds me of one of my local TV stations that was running a $10,000 Watch and Win contest for their 6PM newscast. Some guy won the money, and then got mad when he learned that he no longer qualified for the Earned Income Tax Credit as a result. (a competing station did a 10 min. interview with him and then cut his ranting it into promos slamming the other station)
In that AP article, not a single word criticizing Obama.
