Police were called early Sunday to the home Manuel Salvador Morales Jr. shared with his parents because relatives said Morales was threatening himself with knives. Police spokesman Tom Nichols says two officers confronted Morales, who was armed and failed to comply with their commands. No additional details about the confrontation or how Morales was armed were released.
Nichols says Officer Albert Riccardi fired two shots at Morales, who was hit twice in the torso and pronounced dead at a hospital.

Sounds like a possible “suicide by cop”.
Well, they certainly stopped him from hurting himself, no?
Just more evidence that we cannot be trusted with pocket knives.....
Imagine if the father had shot the son, and police arrived at the scene and he said “he was threatening himself”.
He’d be in jail.
We had a guy across the street from my office a couple of years ago who was threatening to kill himself with a knife. Cops showed up, ordered him to drop the weapon and when he refused shot and killed him. I guess they didn’t understand that they were there to try and save the guy’s life.
Sounds more like murder by cop...
I bet the parents regret making that phone call.

How can you tell from the article whether or not he threatened the responding officers? If you have some more information - please share it. This sounds like a situation where it could be a suicide by cop is all I am saying.
Normally Departments don’t release a lot of information initially, we’ll see what their investigation uncovers.
If you are inclined to believe Cops are out there murdering “innocent” civilians, there is nothing I can do to change your mind.
So there are no bad cops?????

Suicide is illegal. The Police can use deadly force to prevent a crime in progress.
Who said there were no bad cops? You are accusing 2 men of murder, don’t you think you are being rash?
C’mon, be sensible. So nearly 1% of cops are bad and there is widespread murder going on in all the departments and nearly 1 million officers from all over the country? Please provide stats to prove this.
