Putin Slams Obama Tax Proposal (The world is upside down)
Moscow Times ^ | 6/16/09 | staff

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday criticized U.S. President Barack Obama's plan to raise taxes on U.S. companies' foreign operations, saying it would amount to double taxation that will hurt the global economy.

"This is a serious decision for the world economy," Putin said at a meeting of the Presidium, the government said on its web site. "If taxes are imposed on all companies working abroad, then it will mean the total destruction of the system for avoiding double taxation."

Putin instructed Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin to hold discussions on the plan with Obama's administration.

Kudrin met with finance ministers from the Group of Eight over the weekend and signed an agreement with Italy outlining a system for avoiding double taxation.

Obama has proposed canceling a provision of the tax code that allows foreign subsidiaries of U.S. corporations to defer tax payments on money that is reinvested in local operations.

"It's a tax code that says you should pay lower taxes if you create a job in Bangalore, India, than if you create one in Buffalo, New York," he said in May, referring to the current state of the U.S. tax code, media reported.

OK, first of all, I don’t “like” Putin. He’d break it off in our rear at the first opportunity. However, I do very much respect him. Why? Because the guy is highly intelligent and MOST IMPORTANTLY he looks out for the interests of his country and his people.

In other words, he is doing his job, and he does it pretty well. You gotta respect that. What a contrast to what we’ve got for a leader.

Comparing Putin and 0bama, I see some similarities to a comparison with Stalin and Hitler. Like Putin, Stalin was a pragmatist dedicated to hard work to improve the position of Russia, although Putin clearly has avoided Stalin’s brutal excesses. Hitler, on the other hand, was a “dilettante” dictator, more interested in making speeches to the adoring crowd. As an administrator and leader, well, you only have to look at photographs of the skyline of the average German city in 1945 to see how that worked out.

We know what happened when Hitler tangled with Stalin. I pray 0bama doesn’t try to mess with Putin.

Not surprising....

The world knows when Atlas is shrugging, and they have no problem identifying who and where Atlas is.

You sound like quite an intelligent person. Just the kind of individual who thinks he’s a conservative yet supports the man whose epic trail of administrative screw-ups helped place a commie Muslim in the White House while losing a majority in Congress.

The Bushes are not conservatives, GET IT???

The whole clan are a bunch of damn Yankee liberal globalist elitists from New England who betrayed the Reagan and Goldwater revolutions in the GOP and lost control of government to a bunch of extremist anti-American socialists and communists.

If anyone here is a troll, its you. But you are probably a Mexican troll since Bush II was Mexico’s best friend.

“That’s newspeak for “it will interfere with the parasitic redistribution of US taxpayer and US consumer wealth to other nations”.”

You are right. Free trade in NOT capitalism. The only Constitutional way to fund our federal government is through import duties, not taxes on Americans.

We have never had, nor was it ever intended, that we have “free” trade. It has always been at the disadvantage of the USA.

It’s always been a sell out and has never been a benefit to us. They have sold out the American citizen by transferring the creation of wealth outside our country.

Obama has positioned himself to the left of an ex-KGB thug?

That is correct. It stands to reason that, if "free trade" is not "capitalism," then higher taxes and more government reugulation are.

Corporations must pay their "fair share" to the U.S. Treasury . . . they have been taking advantage of us for too long.

They know where the road Mr Obama is taking us down leads. If we go where they went, the consequences for the civilized world will be great. We carry the world on our shoulders, if we shrug, it would be a catastrophe.

Putin says one thing about taxes and all of sudden everyone on here forgives him for being a murderer and dictator.

Kind of like 0booooomba loves to kill babies and regrets voting to save Terri Schiavo's life, and is doing all he can to become Amerika's first totalitarian fascist-commie dictator....Actually yes, I would put more trust & faith in Putin than in that pathological lying SOB POS 0booooomba usurper who is wreaking daily destruction of our formerly once great USA.

In other words, you are willing to overlook evidence regarding Putin in order to accept the same evidence regarding Obama.

0bama’s a pathological lying POS who won’t even come clean on his birth certificate & constitutional eligibility to be president, and yes, I would trust Putin far more than 0boooooomba. At least Putin has a love for his own country, moreso than I can say for 0boooooomba who has spent his entire lifetime and associates with hating & destroying Amerika.

I’m just wondering if the other guy gets it.

I mean, I’m sure they outsourced solely because they’re evil, traitorous dogs.

This is true, but there's one important quality (if you can call it that) Putin has that's been sorely lacking in a POTUS for several decades:

America's best interests. Sure, we'd have to wean him off his despotic nature, but I bet he'd be easier to change (there's that word again) than Obama!

Would someone pinch my arm and wake me up. A Communist leader is telling the American Presi. Wait, that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Putin is telling the guy in the White House that raising taxes is wrong? This must be a bad dream.
