I’d just say, “OK” to her request and then not call her anything. No more “ma’am”. No more “Senator”.

Then, if she were to order me to call her that, I’d remind her that the US does not recognize titles of nobility, and therefore any title is one of respect..and she deserves none of that!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but unless you are under the UCMJ, you don’t have to call anyone by a specific title. That’s one of those “free citizen” things, ya know.

What an ass. He probably called the male Sensators “sir”.

Why would someone want to be degraded like that??

If someone called me “Senator”, I'd smack ‘em to defend my honor, and then sue them for “hate speech”.

Oops. I didn’t notice that she was talking to a General, so the UCMJ does apply.

At first, I thought he answered, “Yes, Ma’am.” But it sounds like he said, “Yes, sentuh.”

Reminds me of the Austin Powers movie where Dr. Evil corrected someone who did not call him "Dr."

Could you use my title? I didn't go to evil doctor school all those years to be called Mr. Or something like that.

BTW, I've never had a real doctor ever tell me to call them "Dr." Most of the good ones tell me to cut it out.

But it’s ok to refer to him as “Mr. Bush” instead of President Bush.

Or, just "Bush" without the "Mr.".

Her and others of her ilk like the MSM, do this all the time.

Boxer’s contempt toward an officer and a gentleman is palpable. Her affront should only embarrass her family, as Boxer has no shame.

She's only got a gripe if he's addressing the male senators as Senator and her as Ma'am. It's more likely he's calling the men Sir and the women ma'am.

Perhaps Babs is sesitive to being referred to as a madam.

This reminds me of the scene from that Jack Nicholson movie with Tom Cruise....
Help me out here....
The movie where Nicholson is the Colonel and Cruise is the government lawyer....
Anyway, Boxer ain’t qualified to scrape mud from the bottom of my boots; the General should have told her to apply negative oral pressure to his junk.

But I thought you told me to call you Leo?

That was at the office. At home I want you to call me Dr. Marvin.

You’re allowed to address the Queen of England as “ma’am.”

The ironic thing is in military parlance, to call someone by their rank, instead of “Sir” or “Ma’am,” is reserved for enlisted personnel—NOT officers.

General Smith: “Sergeant Jones, a great job there.”
Sergeant Jones: “Thank you sir.”

People, you have to understand something. Sen. Boxer did work hard to earn the title “Senator”.

She hasn’t done a darn thing to earn the respect of being called a Madam.
