If I remember correctly, the Flying Tigers (US pilots) went to China pre-WWII to help the Chinese combat the Japanese. I don't remember ever hearing the Chinese thank them for doing that. I was in the 3rd grade and standing in the lunch line when a classmate, his name was Ron Spinner, borrowed 4 cents from me so that he could buy a small carton of milk. He promised to pay me back the next week.

What I didn’t realize at the time is that we had only 4 more days of school before summer break.

Ron Spinner, a thief, never paid me for that 4 cent loan and if I were to see him today, I would not accept an apology. I would want my 4 cents, interest for over 50 years, and then I would kick his butt all over the schoolyard.. er .. I mean, parking lot.
