When Paul got tired of persecuting Christians, he became the most pious ‘believer’ of that faith.

Paul (Saul) didn't get "tired" of persecuting Christians. It was a little more dramatic than that. Go read the book of Acts, Chapter 9.

Sounded to me like the poster wanted to discount the divine/miraculous intervention.

Seriously, someone just “getting tired of persecuting” wouldn’t have gone through what Paul did without “getting tired of” their newly chosen profession.

Something like a blinding light, speaking directly to Jesus, and having your sight restored would tend to make you more committed to your new cause than simply “getting tired of” your former course of action.
