When the protestors start storming gov’t military buildings I think it becomes anti regieme. They cant shoot 1,000,000 people even the police would refuse to do that

What the US and NATO need to do is to tell the Islamic Republican Guards to either stay out of this or face military action against d other regime targets. Any mass action against protesters will be met with a swift response.

Times like these makes me wish someone else was POTUS right now...

I noticed that their green looked just like the Hamas green when they show up for their funerals and rallies.

I know what you mean. GWB would have gladly lent his voice to this uprising if it had occurred during his term and he even spoke of supporting any country crying for freedom. What do we get, a closet muslim fascist who won’t support free expression in Iran, or anywhere else. But he is the world’s choice and they can deal with the consequences.

The question is, how do demonstrations in the streets transform into an overthrow of an entire oppressive dictatorial system?

Right now, they can only achieve what the Theocracy is willing it give them.
It would take an outright revolt of the various security apparatuses, which may be very difficult. Just as Hitler had the SA to keep the people in line, and the SS to keep the SA and regular army in line, the Ayatollahs have a similar structure with the Revolutionary Guard, also bearing some similarities to Saddam’s Elite Republican Guard.

So while the regular police and army may sympathize with the revolutionaries, as had been the case in the successful peaceful revolutions that brought down communism, it is far more unlikely that the fiercely loyal Revolutionary Guard is going to turn on the Ayatollahs. If so, how can true revolution ousting the Theocracy be obtained? And are these protesters ready, willing, and able to do what is needed?

Whose puppet Moussavi is

Maybe he's Vito Rizzuto.

If Tweets are to believed, the regime has brought in Arab Hezbollah thugs......if true, I hope this unites Iran like never before. Persians killing Persians is one thing, foreigners killing Persians is totally different.

Exactly! They can deal with the consequences. Which will be getting squashed by the Mullahs and back to being prisoners in their own country. But hey! At least Obama can give a good speech. That should comfort them some.

Anyone living in an oppressed country and who bad mouthed Bush will live to regret it...

A few days ago when I looked up Mousavi on Wikipedia, the article said that back in the 80's Mousavi was involved in the decision to execute tens of thousands of political prisoners in Iran. Now this section has been removed.

Of course the removed section might have been propaganda. Or maybe the removal is.

Who knows where this will end, Mousavi may not even end up being the leader if it really gets messy

These are Iran’s version of America’s civil rights protests of the 1960’s.

Many of those civil rights protesters in the 1960’s put Obammie in office.

Where are they now?
Where is he now?

Oh, that’s right, it was only an anti-establishment movement, topple those in power and replace them with leftists...who are the enemy of civil rights.
**************

Somebody is awake, I see. My question is: who REALLY fomented this uprising and why? Although I don’t know how at this point, somehow I see Obama and the leftist/globalist agenda ultimately benefiting from it all.

My point is that the Left and Hollywood and the MSM have been dismally silent on what is happening in Iran.

These are the same people that screamed until they were red-faced about Pres. Bush's violation of civil liberties.

But, because Obammie the Commie is in charge, they are quiet. If he said to start clubbing baby seals, they'd go to their local hardware store, buy hickory axe handles, and start looking for baby seals to bash.

My point was that the liberals in this country are a bunch of hypocrites and that this situation helps to elucidate that under all the rhetoric about civil liberties, they are actually tyrannical Statists who approve of the tactics of Ahmanutjob and the Mullah's who rule him.
