Judge to review Cheney interview in CIA leak case

WASHINGTON – A federal judge said Thursday that he wants to look at notes from the FBI's interview with former Vice President Dick Cheney during the investigation into who leaked the identity of a CIA operative.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan's decision to review the documents followed arguments by Obama administration lawyers that sounded much like the reasons the Bush administration provided for keeping Cheney's interview from the public.

Justice Department lawyers told the judge that future presidents and vice presidents may not cooperate with criminal investigations if they know what they say could become available to their political opponents and late-night comics who would ridicule them.

The judge is mistaken if he thinks being black while presiding is going to protect him from criticism for this exceedinly uneducated and ignorant attempt to get his hands on highly classified materials.

Besides, there was no agent identified.

It does not take any genius to see what is going on here.

I would sum it all up as “typical Obama politics”.

To be fair:

Ted Stevens: Charges dismissed
Judge also initiates an independent inquiry of Justice's handling of case

A federal judge dismissed the criminal charges against former Sen. Ted Stevens today, while strongly criticizing the Justice Department lawyers who prosecuted the Alaskan stalwart for their actions in the case.

Doesn’t this “judge” have something better to do? Maybe he could join some of his fellow “judges” out chasing hookers or some little boys or something.

They also said the interview contained classified material and that presidential communications were shielded to allow candor with the president and his advisers. CREW argued that the public has a right to know the role that Cheney played in the leak and why he was not prosecuted.

Here's your culprits, judge and Fitzie:

Hey libs ... Cheney telling the truth bothering you much ?

IT WAS RICHARD ARMITAGE WHO LEAKED HER NAME !!!!

It doesn't matter because no laws were broken when her name was "leaked" to the press. It's nothing but a HUGE RUSE on the public perpetrated by the Fitzgerald, the media, and the democrats.

Libby was prosecuted for "lying" to investigators a process violation. If Libby said sure I mentioned her name to so and so, Fritz couldn't do squat to him.

It was all pure political theater.

o yeah, CREW, puppet of the pro-Baathist wing of the Democrat Party...:

* CREW : CREW has been active only since February [2003], so its profile is still relatively low. Yet Republicans detect a strong Democratic orientation. [Melanie] Sloan, most recently an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, is a former aide to Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.; then-Rep. (now Sen.) Charles Schumer, D- N.Y.; and Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich. In addition, CREW's three board members are Mark Penn, President Clinton's former pollster; Daniel Berger, a trial lawyer from Philadelphia and a Clinton fundraiser; and Louis Mayberg, the president of a mutual fund company. -------------http://www.citizensforethics.org/news/20030719_natljrnl.php via 10 posted on 01/28/2004 10:52:10 AM PST by jimbo123

From the article:

“Libby told the FBI in 2003 that it was possible that Cheney ordered him to reveal Plame’s identity to reporters.”

I don’t remember ever hearing this...does anyone else, or did Nedra pull it out of thin air?
