Obama lights North Korea's Fuse
Asia Times ^ | 6/18/2009 | Donald Kirk

WASHINGTON - If words were launched as missiles rather than missives, the United States and North Korea would be firing salvo on salvo in an escalating war in which much of the North would be in ruins and parts of the US in flames.

As it is, the war of words they're waging gets more intense by the day with the dreaded "nuclear" word being used with alarming frequency.

Am I the only one who thinks the Korean War which ended 54 years ago is about to start up again?

Do movies reflect life or the other way around.

I have seen this movie before, I believe it starred Peter Sellers and a wheelchair.

Does uh....uh......uh.....er....uh...uhbama understand that not everyone finds him smart? In fact, does he understand at all that many of us, many out there in other countries, find him quite ridiculous and out of his league? Way out of his league.

From the article:

“Now all sides appear to be waiting for an “incident” - the actual search of a North Korean vessel, the “act of war” to which North Korea has promised to respond with equal force. In the meantime, just hours before the summit, North Korea played another card, that of the two women arrested on March 17 as they were reporting for Current TV, the Internet cable network, along the Tumen River border between North Korean and China. “

Not quite yet. And it won’t exactly be the Korean War.

Think of the very early stages of WWII, how that was a result of the missteps of the Allies’ WWI victory that seethed in the region.

Japan will be England in this scenario.

The only problem is that people who hate America are running the country and they are supported by multitudes who have been brainwashed that we are evil.

Iranian and N Korean leaders met recently and have had past cooperation on nuke technology.

My opinion, the North Korean government is running scrimmage for the Iranians.

Keep the world busy while buying more time for the Iranians to develop their own nuke weapon.

So if North Korea is planning to attack South Korea, and is threatening to do same (I think they even made the nuclear threat), then at some point—like now—wouldn’t South Korea be justified to launch a pre-emptive attack. I mean, why should they wait to get hit.

Technically the war never really ended. A cease fire, but never declared in end. NK has been milking us for financial aid ever since.

I’m counting on our little one armed Hillary to save the day.

Maybe Zero has figured out that people are rapidly seeing him as the phony that he is who is only concerned about 2 things - himself and nationalization of a capitalist country.

Once the sheen is fully stripped away, and his rating fall to lower levels than W, he’s going to need one of those ready to order CRISIS type gigs so he can retain enough power to finish creating a socialist country out of America.

the conflict ceased, but I think they (South & North) are laboring under a cease fire. No peace treaty was ever signed, so they are technically still at war.

What troubles me, is, Korea is a UN mission, yet the US is bearing the brunt of the cost of the cease fire.

Because they are being “strongly advised” to by Barack Chamberlain, who could head much of this off at the pass, if he wanted to, but is not.

I believe part of the reason for the spending and the 24x7 printing of money is to destroy the US dollar so that we pay China back pennies on the dollar, ticking them off enough to make their move on the Pacific Rim, their foremost goal.

Wouldn't that be bad for America and our allies in that region? It sure would. It would create not only an international incident begging for a global solution, but the economic fallout, combined with the destroyed US dollar, would make many Americans demand a global governance.

Obama wants to be president of the world, just as FDR did. Yes, there are megalomaniacs who dream that big.

Funny line.

Yeah, she did a real bang-up job saving our debt the last time she was there, huh?

I think you’re right about that.

Iran, Syria, and NK play monkey-in-the-middle around the clock.

It’s a stupid play, though, because Bibi is watching Iran like a hawk, just waiting for the right moment to give the nod.

Maybe the reason Kim Jong Il keeps shooting missiles and holding nuclear tests is because he actually wants to be attacked, he wants to start a war. Why? Perhaps he is just like one of those nutty megalomaniacs like in the James Bond films.

The little ma’am will be selling our military secrets to NK once she is up and out of bed.

The whole administration is just being out gunned by these terrorist regimes. It’s going to cost us.
