Megan Kelly Approached for "help" on Ensign Affair
Las Vegas Sun ^

Posted on 06/19/2009 8:54:41 AM PDT by worst-case scenario

Doug Hampton, the supposed blackmailer of John Ensign, went to Megan Kelly of Fox News for help, the week before the story broke. "I love this country and considered it a great privilege to work in the US (sic) Senate. I am bringing this to you and Fox News to address this professionally and correctly. I could have sought the most liberal, Republican hating media to expose this story, but there are people’s lives at stake and justice is about proper process as well as outcome. Senator Ensign has no business serving in the US (sic) Senate anymore! I will send you and (sic) email as well as leave you and your staff messages in an attempt to meet you and your team as soon as possible. I live and work in Nevada but can be in New York within hours, I look forward to your help."

Sounds like poor Dougy Hampton is a little ticked off his blackmail attempt didn’t work. He didn’t get his money and got exposed by Ensign. Tough cookies Dougy.

It takes two to tango, and it seems his wife was a willing participant.

And your proof is?????

Ah, that’s what an affair is. If it isn’t willing, its rape.

The 2nd part is someone in a position of authority was screwwing a subordinate employee.

bingo, what is sick about on the part of the POS senator was he's been covering it up for a year and now has dreamed up the his wife and he were separated BS. What a piece of work.

From what I understood the “affair” took place while Ensign and his wife were sepearated? If that is the truth and this guy’s wife had an affair with the guy what is the big deal other than they guy is upset? it takes two to tango and if she did this to you willingly then she shares the blame. If the Senator’s wife was told about it and they reconciled anyway then it really is none of our buisness, IMHO.

We followed up with him, but he seemed evasive and not credible, thus we didn't pursue it."

this husband may be attempting to cover his butt against the purported attempt at blackmail charge. he strikes me as skeevy, if Fox found him evasive and not credible.

FOX is says they never received the letter.

And the letter says that it's the only letter being sent SO, how does the LV Sun come up with a 'copy'? An aspiring bodice ripper novelist in the newsroom engaging in a little creative fiction, I wonder?

Read real slow the other poster said that the other person had to participate for it to happen. I said no you can always have drug and are liquor involved.

I did not say anybody did anything, except I do believe the separation thing is made up after the fact.

Read both sides of the statement, I said there was more than one way. Does not mean it applies to this case. If I had meant that I would have said so.

But this is more of a tabloid issue than anything else.

BS this is a work issue and a public policy issue. A senator was screwwing his employee and the employee & spouse were fired. Ensign has shown that he is not fit to represent his state in Congress.

Where did I say Ensign was innocent? And let’s not forget this fool who wrote the letter was likely blackmailing him before this letter was even written. yes, what ensign did was incredibly wrong. But the idiot who is trying to get tabloid-like publicity from this is even more skeevy.

They were separated and he/she made a mistake. Everybody makes mistakes and it is really between him and his wife now. Anybody who has never made a mistake throw the first stone. So now it is public and between him and his wife to work through. The sad thing is it wrecked two families.

Pray for America
