Obama throughout History
National Review ^ | June 17 | Rich Lowry

Posted on 06/20/2009 12:06:34 PM PDT by PghBaldy

On the Sack of Rome: "Any time a major urban area is plundered so quickly, it is concerning to us. We are sure the Gauls and Chieftain Brennus understand Roman worries about the utter devastation of their city."

On the Blitz: "Any time a city is bombed for 57 straight nights, we take notice. That is something that interests us. We hope all national air forces involved in this dismaying conflict behave responsibly."

On the creation of the Berlin Wall: "Any time a barrier divides people we get worried, and perhaps even chagrined. We hope all Germans can work this out amicably, and agree on construction standards and building materials going forward. We, as Americans, stand ready to observe closely."

Good satire of Obama's non-reaction so far.

Great stuff! Obama is one of history’s great blowhards for sure!

Obama is waiting to see who wins.

Roosevelt should have done the same in Europe.(/sarc)

What a pathetic excuse for a President.

Zero is pathetic, no doubt, but this is just more cosmpolitan, PNAC, globalist twaddle.

—Roosevelt should have done the same in Europe.(/sarc)—

Maybe you’re kidding on the square. The defeat of fascism set the stage for Communist domination of much of the globe for two generations.

We...uh...are deeply concerned...uh...and watching the...uh...events unfold in Hawaii today....uh...The vigorous debate taking place at Pearl Harbor only...uh...strengthens my administrations resolve to...uh...fully engage the government of Japan on...uh...a full range of issues at interest to our two nations and...uh...as a goodwill gesture to the Japanese government and to help smooth negotiations, I...uh...am directing that the oil embargo be lifted immedietly.

Ridiculousness has the same ring.

1. I’m sure the Gauls and Chieftain Brennus understand Roman worries about the utter devastation of their city.”

2. I hope all national air forces involved in this dismaying conflict behave responsibly.”

3. I stand ready to observe closely.

4. I’m sure the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam will work with its duly constituted maritime authorities to resolve this matter in a manner satisfactory to all parties.”

Despite the demagoguery of his campaign, we can be assured that Obama will never combine rhetoric with genuine substance. The only time he will give a ‘tear down this wall’ speech the way Reagan demanded of Gorbachev, will be in speaking against Netanyahu.

Barack Obama: Voting ‘Present’ since 1987.

Is that what those Japanese Zeros, Kates & Vals were doing? "Debating" the US Navy's battlefleet at Pearl?

Ha haaaaa!!! Good stuff.

Too short, though. I think we can come up with some more examples.

On 9/11: "Anytime an airliner full of innocent civilians is flown into a skyscraper, we are deeply troubled. Let the world take notice, however, that these sorts of shenanigans will be met with swift and sure first responders."

"We, as Americans, stand ready to observe closely."

This is why some people can earn a living through writing and I can't. Hilarious.

Are you one of those Buchananites who think that "we fought the wrong war"?

Strikes a nerve, doesn’t it? You’ve got to realize that “cosompolitanism” is not true conservatism. Too many people in our movement have drunk the “spread freedom anywhere and everywhere” kool-aid. Not good.

On The Shot Heard ‘Round The World: “Any time a distant governing body attempts to insert itself into what should be local politics, we weigh the potentialities soberly. A decent respect for mankind certainly warrant us to severely meditate on these actions.”

Find in the US Constitution where the United States is supposed to be the world’s nanny, then get back to me.
