I’d love to see crime rates, tax rates and the economic status of each city government.

My bet is crime and taxes are high for the “liberal” cities and that they also are the most mismanaged economically.

I think it would be helpful to know which cities are growing and which are declining in population, although I know places like Bakersfield are not growing like they were before the current recession.

Do you really need to see the stats? Having been to Detroit, Gary, Washington, Newark, Flint, Cleveland, and about a dozen more on the list I know they are pits.
This article may be the most depressing thing ever posted on Free Republic, because it really points out the tragic state this country is in. Our future really is one out of the movie, “Escape from New York”.

Look at unemployment in the most liberal cities. Detroit is right up there as THE highest unemployment in the nation. I would bet you would see the most conservative cities with lower unemployment. Crime is through the roof in Detroit and so are taxes.

You aren’t suggesting that Detroit is mismanaged, are you ?

There is a ‘critical mass’ of welfare recipients in any city .. beyond which the middle class is taxed to death to support, and just leave. Whatever conservatives/traditionalists/middle class that once lived in Detroit bolted decades ago. Same with all the other top liberal cities (except the college towns). We have become more segregated rather than less since the ‘60’s

1. High crime
2. High taxes
3. High unemployment
4. High welfare participation
5. Extensive corruption
6. Rotten public schools
7. Population loss and abandoned areas

Common characteristics of "conservative cities":

1. Relatively low crime rates
2. Relatively low taxes
3. Relatively high employment
4. Relatively low welfare participation
5. Only moderate corruption
6. Functional public schools
7. Economic health and population growth.

Now, based on simple observation, how could one possibly contend that liberalism improves the state of the governed? It has failed everywhere it's been tried...

I am Sure you are Absolutely Correct. I Noticed that the Most Significant Factors - From the information they provide - Are Marriage & Foreign Language Spoken in the Homes. In the More Conservative Cities, a Significantly Higher % of the people Are Married. And In the More Liberal Cities, a Significantly Higher % of the People Speak a Foreign Language in their Homes.

I Realize that many people assume that Conservatives discriminate Racially & that that is why Conservative Cities have significantly lower Minority Population. While its Hard to tell what causes - or is caused by - what; Perhaps it is b/c Minorities believe the Democrat policies will be better for them & b/c Democrats pursue the votes of & Seek to Say, what Minorities want to hear; That Both Liberal Politicians & Minorities are in the same Cities in Higher numbers.

By the Same token, Married folks tend to Believe Conservative Policies are better for them. And Conservatives tend to promote Family b/c they believe that is best for society.

Once you put all of those things together, its easy to see that the combination of More Marriages/Families and Conservative Politicians produces less Poverty... AND the Combination of Liberals & homes that do not assimilate by learning to speak English tend to produce more Poverty.

That is my Hypothesis.
