That’s fine I was born in the UK but my parents had the foresight to come here.
All the convicts went to the Eastern States - none here in South Aus.
I think a few English might appreciate that special “government cruise” the wayt hey are presently going LOL!

Your comments track exactly with a friend’s comments. She has lived in Europe for twenty years and she has become a bit disdainful of most Euros.
If this is true, I blame the lack of community spirit which now exists in the UK. Pensioners with no family or whose family lives too far away to visit on a regular basis tend to be left to rot in their own homes. People don’t know their neighbours, and don’t want to know their neighbours. Everybody’s social life tends to revolve around people they know through work or met at school or university etc.
From my experiance in the states, there is still a sense of community that allows old people to stay integrated in society. In Britain, once you’ve retired and your spouse/friends have died off, you have nothing left to do but basically sit in your armchair all day waiting to die...
