Jumping Jihad!! Rev. Warren goes Wahhabi (Top Evangelist to Promote New Religion; 'Chrislam')

Top protestant evangelist to promote new religion; 'Chrislam' at radical Muslim convention

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), an organization with ties to Hamas and other terrorist groups, will hold its annual convention—the largest yearly gathering of Muslims on the continent—in Washington, D.C. over the Fourth of July weekend.

And the keynote speaker will be Reverend Rick Warren, founder and senior minister of the Saddleback Church, an evangelical mega-church located in Lake Forest, California.

Rev. Warren has become one of America’s leading Christian leaders. Over 400,000 pastors attend his “purpose-driven” church seminars and his books, including “The Purpose Driven Life,” have become international best-sellers.

Why did Rev. Warren commit to appear at such a controversial gathering?

The nation’s leading Protestant evangelist was unavailable for comment, but his scheduled visit at the convention follows ISNA leader Sayyid Syeed’s appearance at the Saddleback Church last December.

Why is the ISNA so controversial?

The organization’s website contains the following quotations:

“The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. ‘O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.’”

“May Allah fight the Jews and the Christians? They took the graves of their Prophets as places of prostration. Two deens [religions] shall not co-exist in the land of the Arabs.”

“I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.” “The Dajjal [Devil, Antichrist] would be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan wearing Persian shawls.” “Ibn Umar reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) stoned to death the Jews, both male and female, who had committed adultery.”

Perhaps his next book will be “The Explosion Driven Life.”

If I was invited to speak to a muslim group, I wonder how I would handle it?

Our pastor was invited once to speak about Christianity to the muslim student group on our college campus. He walked into an ambush -- it turns out that, without telling him, the student group also brought in one of Islam's foremost apologists (Jamal Badawi) to "debate" our pastor.

Our guy held his own well enough, but he wasn't nearly as polished (or as well prepared) as Badawi, and came across as the much weaker of the two.

Of course, God isn't limited by the shortcomings of His servants, so who knows -- perhaps some were intrigued by the Good News nonetheless.

I don’t think he is a “leader” outside of his own Church.

Unfortunately, far too many pastors look up to him.

I wonder if this guy would have the guts to go against Ravi Zacharias?

While some believe Warren is being wrongfully prejudged since he hasn’t yet spoken at this Islamic conference, no doubt he will live up to the expectations expressed on this thread. All you have to do is look at his miserable liberal track record. He is a leading advocate of one world religion, “Chrislam” if you please.

Some hope he will preach the gospel to these Muslims. Not going to happen, the Muslims screen who is going to speak to them. They full well know Warren is not a true Protestant, Fundamentalist, nor even a true Christian. And that whatever form of “gospel” he might preach to them will be so watered down it won’t be recognized as such.

I'd love to see that matchup.

Nevadan: Can you give concrete evidence of Rick Warren espousing that he is now an advocate of “Chrislam”? Just curious.

Nevadan, you are not by any chance yourself part of Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church” are you? Being a “Nevadan” and not a Californian, I wouldn’t think so. Or, perhaps you are just one who have read his books, and swallowed his “purpose driven” line.

I was given one of his books, skimmed through it, saw enough to convince me that his stuff is written in such a manner as to appeal to postmodern types. By postmodern I mean those of modern times who have come to believe there no longer exists objective truth - as the Bible purports to be.

Warren is a slick California motivational psychologist. Rather than preach objective Biblical truth, he makes a sycretism out of it, watering Biblical truth and the gospel down to appeal to the postmodern mindset.

What we need is Bible Driven Churches, not Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven ones.

Now, if Warren were to actually preach to these Muslims Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the only way to God, as John 14 plainly says he is, then I will stand corrected (and happily so). The objective gospel truth, in other words. On the other hand, if he doesn’t, will you admit you were wrong?

“You are sort of on the sick side.”

Yeah maybe, but the only time I have ever heard the term fundy thrown around, it was by a group of militant homosexuals. Maybe the slang has filtered into the general community in California but to me it is like casually throwing the name fascist or breeder into a conversation and not realizing the origins or implications of such terms.

Congratulations on your vote. Try to keep the area sane, I may move back to SoCal some day.

—Tashlan.

Sparky, this is the FIRST THING that went through my mind when I read “chrislan”. Dear God, is the end coming this soon? This really sounds like the Book of Revelation and The Last Battle all wrapped up into one. Even so: Come, Lord Jesus.

Yes, Lewis was way ahead. Another reason he is my favorite author.

Unlike CAIR, or The Muslim-American Society, INSA has managed a feeble and tentative criticism of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its brutality.

Warren is listed as one of the speakers at the ISNA convention according to the ISNA website.

Speaking of Lewis :)

I re-read (prolly for the 12th time) Out of the Silent Planet last week and started Perelandra yet again just yesterday. Love re-reading them. If you haven't read them (and That Hideous Strength) then you will be in for a treat!

but back to the topic... mix a little truth with each lie and they sure go down easy. Really quite frightening.

I haven't said where I am on Rick Warren. You said he was a “leading advocate of one world religion, “Chrislam”. All I asked you was if you had concrete evidence of this. You've said he is “postmodern” and no longer believes that objective truth exists. You said he is a “slick California motivation psychologist”. You said Warren has watered down Biblical truth and the gospel to “appeal to the postmodern mindset”.

Can you give exact source references where Rick Warren has done or said the things you claim? And, you still haven't given any evidence regarding your claim that Warren is now advocating a Christian-Muslim combo faith (at least that's what I assume you mean by “Christ-lam”). I'm not accusing you of anything, nor am I defending Rick Warren. I'm just asking you for specific, sourced references to back-up what you say about Warren. I really want to know if what you are saying is true about him. That's all.
