Washington, DC - -(AmmoLand.com)- Imagine that. The Senate confirmed this week, by a vote of 62-35, a gun banner who stays up at night thinking of ways to impose more gun control upon American citizens.
Harold Koh is that gun grabber, and he was confirmed yesterday to be the Legal Adviser at the State Department.
On Wednesday, Senate Republicans attempted to kill the Koh nomination with a filibuster until eight of them crossed the aisle to help Democrats confirm Koh.
The back-stabbing Senators are:
Lamar Alexander (R-TN) Susan Collins (R-ME) Judd Gregg (R-NH) Orrin Hatch (R-UT) Richard Lugar (R-IN) Mel Martinez (R-FL) Olympia Snowe (R-ME) George Voinovich (R-OH) Once the filibuster was thwarted, Kohs nomination passed easily. The vote on final passage can be viewed at: http://tinyurl.com/m4m2f5
Koh is eager to assume his post at the State Department, having lamented that there is only so much that can be done from the outside to push gun control treaties, and that ultimately we need people like him in positions of power. The chief lawyer for the State Department is just the position someone like him needs to push more gun control through international treaties.
GOA will continue watching for any attempt by the Obama administration to foist an international gun control treaty upon the citizens of the U.S.
Please stay tuned.
Dont Let Your Senators Escape the Heat of the Spotlight!
If you have been watching the news, you have no doubt seen stories on the health care debate. This is the topic de jour on Capitol Hill, and Congress is ramping up to vote on a bill in a few weeks.
Last week, GOA alerted you to the fact that the whole health care issue has become a Trojan Horse for gun control, among other things.

Koh is crazy, plain and simple. His writings reveal his very far-left, wacko theories on a number of issues.
He is more dangerous to the US than Al Qaeda because we can hunt and kill members of Al Qaeda. Koh will work at the White House and destroy us from within, with immunity.
The Obama kingdom is beginning to look like Hitler’s early years.
Unfortunately to the media any authoritarian (it’s self a left wing thing in my book) type who isn’t clearly a Marxist will be called “right wing” even if they propose left wing economic measures. “Left wing” they rarely use as pejorative.
Richard Lugar is a RINO type who doesn’t get talked about a lot in relation to some others.
He makes Graham look good.
For the life of me I cannot understand why the Republican party does not get rid of Snowe and Collins. They are outright leftist Democrats. They can never be counted on, ever. The “Conservative Base” has some real work to do. They need to get rid of EVERY SINGLE Rhino.
But then, I doubt there is time, by the next election, America will NOT be America and this band of Extremely Vicious Thugs, will have even the election process taken over. Without a military coup coupled with a Revolution, America will not survive this Fraudulent Thug and his henchmen. As Glenn Beck said on Friday, “We are witnessing the Dismanteling of America day by day”!! He is right. It’s almost dizzying. Very Sad. CO
Lugar came in at #8 last year in the top 10 Senate RINOs. No. #1. was Olympia Snowe, #2. Susan Collins, #4. George Voinovich, #5. Lisa Murkowski, 6#. Mel Martinez. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil Lindsey Graham didn't make the top 10 since he votes conservative 90% of the time. In the House, #1 was Michael Castle. #3. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Those south FL Cuban Republicans are just so darn conservative? Aren't they? Sure...) Mark Kirk made #8 last year (no doubt he was disappointed that he slipped below his usual 1st and 2nd slot so he'd vowed to be more liberal this year), and the allegedly "conservative" Peter King was no. #10. Fellow NYer John McHugh is also one of the top 10 RINOs, but he represents a much more liberal district and has become an Obamaite.
Not that freepers care about politicians ACTUAL records in office, sadly. Alot of these socialist politicians will continue to get a pass from most of FR (even the ones in so-called "red states" where the "rule" is we don't tolerate disloyality there), while freepers continue to declare Lindsey Graham is the most evil man on earth instead.
::sigh::
My post was a parody of mainstream media talking points, with RINO Congressman Kirk employs frequently (he's the lone Chicago area "Republican" in a competitive district that the media is always rooting for). Kirk will pass legislation even some moderate Democrats can't stomach, and claim his socialist agenda is "centrist" and "middle of the road"

Alexander, Gregg and Hatch voted NAY (against Koh).
The Gun Owners of America article seems to have some faulty information, at least according the senate roll call vote.
I think that Lugar has contracted Patomic Fever, perhaps accompanied by senility. He should have retired years ago.
I read a long piec on Koh. He is toxic waste
