Obama Warns Dems on 'Protectionist' Tax in Climate Change Bill
FOXNews.com ^ | Tuesday, June 30, 2009 | By Judson Berger

After a "Buy American" provision in the stimulus bill triggered a tit-for-tat with Canada, President Obama is warning fellow Democrats to think twice about another "protectionist" measure in the House-passed climate change bill.

The climate bill that passed the House last week on a 219-212 vote includes a provision to impose tariffs -- starting in 2020 -- on imports from countries that don't have a system for limiting global warming pollution.

The provision was pushed as a way to keep the U.S. competitive with other countries that haven't imposed rules to reduce carbon emissions and promote clean energy.

I think what the reporter meant was this:

CHINA tells Obama to warn Dems on ‘Protectionist’ Tax in Climate Change Bill (or they will crush our dollar)

Obammie the Commie is coming face-to-face with the realities of socialist/communist economic policy.

DOA - Dead On Arrival
Yeah, right, dead in a FILIBUSTER-PROOF SENATE.
Listen, I remember last Thursday. People calling Glenn Beck’s program gleefully exclaiming that it was “DOA” in the House. They had spoken to their critter, and (s)he said that it would surely fail.
Listen, gang, listen. We’re getting taken to the wood-shed again. When you think it’s dead, they know you will not light up the lines to try to stop it.
This time, though, I do not think it matters. No filibuster means simple majority (right?). “They” only need 50. How in HELL can we win on this?

100% what I thought the minute I heard “DOA”. We cannot afford to take our collective foot off this one.

The hoax is exposed...to people who watch Fox News. The rest of the folks out there who like to say Fox is biased (ignoring the independent studies that say Fox is, in fact, more fair and balanced than anyone else) will blow this off. The MSM will bury it just like Obama did. Liars, all of them. Tin foil hat on securely.

Paul Krugman’s opinion piece in Tuesdays edition of the Daily News. Krugman wants to label all that voted against president Obama’s Cap and Trade legislation as acts of treason. I guess that means that those that voted against it and all that support them would be considered acts of treason also. This, makes my blood come to a boil. It was recently reported that a report compiled by EPA analyst Alan Carlin was suppressed by the agency because it would have hurt chances of this legislation from passing. Its bad enough that Krugman cites only those that support the theories of global warming and totally ignores the scores of scientists that dispute the issue. It also laughable that the ever pompous Al Gore makes the bogus claim that the science debate is settled. But when you have an agency of the federal government suppress a report and cite the reason that the analyst is not a scientist but an economist and can’t be considered as authoritative. I mean after all don’t economists take collected data and analyze it to reach a informed conclusion as a means to make a recommendation to decision makers. I guess when it comes to science you can’t trust an economist. Oh, I forgot, isn’t Paul Krugman an economist!

If you google “solar minimum” “sunspot” and “Ice Age” you will find a huge number of articles that make a compelling case that we may be entering a new Ice Age. There is always a spike in warming just before an Ice Age begins according to scientists that have studied past cycles by measuring ice cores and other evidence. We may need all the CO2 we can get as well as any other greenhouse gases to minimize the effect of the next Ice Age. The Sun is cooling and we cannot stop that. The Gore crowd is trying (through their ignorance) to go in exactly the wrong direction. They have politicized an issue they really don’t understand. They are only looking at the last few hundred years when they should be looking at the climate history of the last 200,000 years which includes many Ice Ages, each one preceded by a short temporary warming. We Have finished the warming and now are rapidly cooling. Cap and trade not only disadvantages our economy vis a vis the world, but is a monstrous tax increase that will only exacerbate climate damage.

Rep. Sander Levin, D-Mich., who pushed Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif. . . . They couldn’t balance a checkbook between them.

I would almost bet what's left of my 401k that you are correct on that. Seriously.
