N. Korean rocket capable of hitting half the U.S.: American scientists
yonhap news ^ | July 1 2009 | Sam Kim

The long-range rocket North Korea launched in April could be converted into a ballistic missile that can theoretically hit half the United States with a substantial payload, two U.S. physicists have concluded from their joint study.

North Korea launched on April 5 what it claims was a rocket designed to carry a satellite into orbit. The U.S. and its allies say nothing entered orbit, calling the "Unha-2" rocket a disguised form of a ballistic missile capable of flying over 6,700 kilometers.

Well, dear leader is far less interested in blasting Kansas than he is Los Angeles so this little bit of “hope and change” should be puckering up the population there ... should, but won’t.

They’d need dozens to destroy us. How many of ours will it take to do them? ‘Bout three. One if it’s fired first.

All it would take is about 3 exploded high up to EMP the US west of the Mississippi.

Please see www.mda.mil

We need to pressure our Representatives to fully fund missile defense. That is the fastest way to render these weapons obsolete.

Nine of the top 10 lenders were in California, one of the states badly affected by the housing crisis that emerged after a surge in lending to riskier, or subprime, borrowers, many of whom were forced to foreclose.

Speaking of North Korea. Anyone else notice that the story of the two women journalist held by NK, has vanished from the news? Our State Department swept it under the rug.

Somebody will certainly correct me if I’m wrong, but I beleive 7600 km is equal to 4200 miles. Not enough to get across the Pacific Ocean.

My guess is Russia. I have read (don't ask me where, I don't remember) that the KGb leader, Putin beleives that he can avoid MAD by having his proxies do the dirty work, have us wiped out and claim his hands are clean, thereby avoiding destruction to his own lands.

That makes sense and with the bumbling fool we have steering the country this is not going to end well.

Ling and Lee have been visited (the last on 062409) by Swedish ambassador Mats Foyer – who brought out two letters from Ling to her family and husband. Ling was also allowed to call her sister Lisa Ling.

Current TV goaded them into crossing the NK border and they are in the wrong here.

12 years is clearly wrong but NK intends to hold them to scare off any more activists from reporting on the refugee exodus and sex slave trafficking from NK to China. When power if completely transferred from Kim Jing Il to his son, they will likely be released. Look for a year or more of incarceration unless Gore/Richardson/Clinton can make some progress.

See, there you go using logic when dealing with a batsh** crazy leader in N Korea who is dying anyway and a gutless leader in the US who probably won’t retaliate even if they did hit LA with a nuke. I don’t think they can build a nuke light enough to put on a missile, but they might have gotten one from China(never be fooled by China’s BS about N Korea)or from Russia. I have no doubt Kim Mentally Il would fire one at us if he had the capability.
