The whole level of debate was so much higher in the Madison-Hamilton era. Thank God we still have some rights that survive.

"That means if a power is not delegated to Congress, it belongs to the states of the people."
States of the people? Can I assume he meant to say the States OR the people?

Why did the founders of our nation give us the Bill of Rights? The answer is easy. They knew Congress could not be trusted with our God-given rights. The great Walter Williams repeats the mistake that Marshall made in Barron vs. Baltimore. The founders knew that governments could not be trusted with our God-given rights. The Bill of Rights restrictions did not apply only to Congress except where they were specifically limited to Congress, as they were. Any other interpretation is absurd.

The biggest mistake the Founding Fathers made was calling it the “Bill of Rights”, instead of the “Bill of Limitations”.

The founders understood both the nature of power and the nature of men.
Unfortunately, today’s “politicians” have neglected to study either, making the enumerated bill all that more important.

The "Bill of Rights" was added so the federal government wouldn't bother the slaveholders. Now, thanks to them, the US Supreme Court has jurisdiction every time a high school principal edits the "f"-word out of a student newspaper.
