What evidence do you have that Powell's military career was affected by affirmative action? I am unaware of this. Even if there is, in what way did AA fail? You've confused me.
Colin Powell’s combat record is pretty mundane and once he made colonel, every other promotion was based on politics and connections. If not for GHWB, no one would even know his name.
