NOt sure what Class III has to do with it. It’s an AR which means it’s not class III unless modified.

What’s the problem with having a magazine in the gun even if he isn’t at the range?

Before my terrible RV accident where all my guns were destroyed - ALL the guns around here were loaded ALL the time. Criminals would not of have to wait for me to go get a mag or load my pistol.

No problem unless their is a round in the chamber and the safety is off, neither of which I can tell from looking at him. An AR15 should only be carried with the bolt back. Moreover he has the barrel pointed down while hanging lose from his shoulder.

Thank you very much but I don’t want to trust my safety to someone I’ve never met and if I were nearby I would have taken one look at his lack of judgment and walked away. Dumb, dumb and dumb.

There’s a 30 round magazine in my AR right now. Dang it, there I go being all uncouth again...

“There’s a 30 round magazine in my AR right now.”

Got you beat. A 30-rd magazine in the well and another right beside it in the Redi-mag. :)

“An AR15 should only be carried with the bolt back.”

While doing what?

His safety is on and it’s pointed in a safe direction. With or without one in the chamber, he is currently doing nothing unsafe.

I have a day or two experience with this weapon and never heard that one. Whatever works for you.

Did that guy have your training? You don’t know. Judging from the sword on his back, I’d say not. Then only way I’m trusting his weapon is if I can see the chamber is empty.

It’s pointed in a safe direction until the sword catches the trigger then who knows.

Your choice - we keep almost everything trigger locked, secured and the ammo locked up seprately. “Course we have the grandkids over pretty often.

We do keep a ‘ready piece’ - usually the carry piece.

To each his own.

THanks for the reply.

Okay, I know this is bizarre, but I have a mental image of a guy with a hilt on the butt plate of his rifle.

Well, in fairness, I don’t usually carry my AR around in public. But, now that I think about it, it might be fun. :D
