Sarah may be sensing something that a lot of us have, and that is, both parties have failed the American people miserably. They've become something of an unholy alliance of corruption, greed, and power consolidation.
Americans on both sides of the aisle are wondering if and when either of the parties will ever get around to doing the people's real business.
What's needed today is a house cleaning that spans both parties, and the federal bureaucracies, from top to bottom. This goes for state governments, too.
In that wise, Sarah sees that the fight isn't really between the Democrat and Republican parties. They've both been corrupted and subverted beyond recognition. The bigger fight is against the overgrown mutant monster of a government we've allowed to come into being.
This is a fight for the basics of the American way of self governance, constitutionalism, and federalism. We've strayed so far off the well-taped path the Founders laid out, that America now bears little resemblance to their construct.
We truly need to flush, clean house, push the reset button, throw the bums out, however you want to think of it. I think that this is exactly what the Tea Party movement is all about. We've lost our way, and it's time to correct our course before the whole experiment fails.
How about letting us in on how it's done -- step by key-clicking step?

I endorse all that you said. At the risk of annoying fellow FReepers who are die-hard GOP loyalists no matter what the party does or whom it nominates, I’ll point out in respect of this part of your post:

that is PRECISELY why Ross Perot ran in ‘92 and why millions of people, including political drop-outs, instantly responded and did the hard work to get him on the ballot in all 50 states (...that’s right, BO, only 50...). Ross didn’t really WANT to be president and despises the b.s. in politics, but was willing to put himself through it (up to a point) in order to be that catalyst on behalf of the American people. He was trying to get one or both major parties to respond to the people’s real business, using a 2”x4”, so to speak, to get their attention. He succeeded to a significant extent and came much closer to the presidency than many realize.
What Sarah did on Friday appears to be the next momentous step along those lines. Sure, the GOP most closely represents her and our beliefs. But the party elites take the support of conservative average Americans for granted and only pay lip service to many of those beliefs. Meanwhile, they continue to push our nation towards bankruptcy and collapse as they pursue their stupid, dangerous, treasonous globaloney. They’re determined to marginalize Sarah if they can’t control her for their own agenda (and they can’t).
So here we go again. Lead on, Sarah America. Your countrymen are with you. And God how we love you, sister!
Remember FReepers: it’s not the party, but our (still) free REPUBLIC that is of paramount importance. If we can reclaim the GOP in the process, great. If not, so be it. The party is not enshrined in the Constitution. We can still have a patriotic movement that marginalizes the globalists and clubbie-pubbies just as it does the radicals, wackos and degenerates in that other party.

So do I, and I believe we're on firm ground in that conviction. Sarah made her reputation in Alaskan politics by opposing politicians of both sides, in her quest to do what was in the best interests of the Alaskan people.
She will do no less in her crusades to come.
