As another poster said, “Sarah Palin is not QUITTING; she is just REPOSITIONING herself on the high ground for a new battle.”

He’s not one to “wimp out”, remember, he was Dan Quayle’s press secretary.

A person who is merely not convinced would not refer to Sarah as a "pinhead woman."

Good point.

I feel we are being taken over by liberals and moderates, somehow the objective why Free Republic was set up is being flushed down to Democratic Underground levels.

Maybe it's because FR is attracting more people, and therefore it's starting to represent a real cross section of American Society.

After all, FR is one of the few sites where the users decide what article, or issue, to discuss.

I agree with you that a large part of the bashing seems to come from the Romeny camp. However, I’d like to let them know, I actually lived in MA when he was governor. He didn’t have the honor to step down as governor after he decided to run for president. He merely left the actually governing to Lt. Gov. Healey. She did as good as job as she was able given that she was fighting a Democratic state congress and wasn’t given too much authority to do it because she wasn’t even “acting governor”. Then he didn’t back her too much in her run for the Governorship, though she did his job for him while he was out campaigning.

Oh, and yeah, Romney was the one who gave MA that abortion of a health care reform, heavily supported by the Democratic state congress.

I supported Romeny when he ran for MA governor and had a lot of hope when he was elected. However, he was more concerned about being liked than being conservative. I saw no honor in the man.

(was it ok with all of you FR’ers that have been here longer than me that I “bashed” Romeny ... can someone please tell me where I get the form to sign to be able to express my opinion to a more senior member?)

Well, I disagree with him on that point.

Her term in office would be up at the end of 2010. That would give her two years to campaign non-stop for the Presidency. And she could have done it with a successful full term, having toughed out the attacks from the left, and showing she had the moxie to see the tough times through.

I know you folks are loyal to her. I respect that. I just realize that not everyone is this loyal to her, and a lot of people are going to see this differently than you do.

I was still defending Sarah as late as Friday morning, so don’t think I didn’t.

I hold a more skeptical reason, because Free Republic has become a real place for conservative views and ideals, some have chosen to infiltrate and dilute the message.

Can’t you just imagine the state your average, lunch-pail Reagan Democrat is going to be in in another three years!

Similar to the state I'm in now.

We’re in touch with the land. We’re in touch with our forefathers who were in touch with the land. We have a personal attachment to America’s roots....We get it cause Sarah get’s it ....She’s one of us.

Kumbaya, my Lord, Kumbaya ...

It's starting to get a little thick in here.

By 2016, it will be much harder to undue the Statist damage.

RINO’s are all the RNC cares about 8 of whom voted for CAP and TRADE.

Sarah secures congressional victories in ‘10 tipping power back to Republicans with more conservative representation - then takes the White House in 2012.

Anything else is suboptimal and unacceptible.

He thinks she operates outside the box, somewhat like he does, and he doesn’t think this precludes her from pursuing public office in the future if she wants to. He states that anyone who says otherwise right now is either a beltway pundit who is afraid of her, or is someone trying to make a name for themselves. This seems to be faithful to as favorable a view of Palin as it could be under the circumstances. I have state I think she made a big mistake, so he obviously disagrees with me considerably on this issue.

Staying on as governor of Alaska fielding endless, inappropriate ethics complaints doesn't do the state of Alaska any good and it doesn't make her in real terms any more qualified to be President.

If she wants to be President, she needs to start now. If she starts now, if certainly is in the best interest of Alaskans that she step down.

Why is the above strategy considered "outside the box"? It seems like common sense to me.

Reading problem? I did name names. Bill Kristol (who was almost single-handedly responsible for her nomination) was shell-shocked this morning. She left her supporters hanging in the wind with no notice and some weird basketball/fishing analogy.

Then she communicates by twitter and face book? Are you kidding me? This is a statesman?

Saw that one and the one that said...She was in Pearl Harbor; she's just moving the boat out to sea where she can dodge the torpedoes.

Did you also see last night her lawyers made known they were prepared and intended on filing papers against MSM who maligned either her or her family without having any proof? People and agencies were named. (apparently while in office she can't do that)

WOO HOO
