I’ve been turning on the heater in my car while *leaving* work at 5:00 PM in the afternoon in July. That’s never happened before.

The older I get the more I doubt the validity of horoscopes and doomsday prophets.

Noam Chomsky made some legitimate contributions to computer science when he was about 25. Since he was in theory, that was it. The rest of his life has been a long, futile search for relevance and meaning.

In Colorado; June 2009, was the second wettest June since records began. We missed the record by one tenth of an inch.

Maybe the federal government shouldn’t fund scientific research.

When they fund it - the quality goes down.

Come to think of it, it's the same with funded art (crap) -

funded housing (bad construction),

funded TV and Radio -( biased and boring)...

hmmm, you might be on to something here MichiganConservative.

At 11:45 PM July 4th 2009 it was 41 degrees here in North Central Pennsylvania. At 5:15 AM July 5th, 2009 it was 39 degrees.

That is cold for this time of year.

Ain’t it funny how the so-called experts completely ignore facts and data when they don’t WORK FOR their cause...What do you know, science isn’t always impartial and objective and accurate. Maybe they just say things for research money. Maybe the federal government shouldn’t fund scientific research.

This is exactly correct. Direct funding of basic research has been catastrophic to honesty and methodological rigor, at least in areas of interest to political scum such as we have in Congress nowadays.
