I agree with you on all but Ron Paul (I don’t like his FP as much), but domestically-espcially austrian (free-market economics; espcially monetary policy) ARE Right on.

“1) Haley worked as a DC lobbyist. The media will try to dig up how much he made as a lobbyist and who he dealt with.

2) Haley is from MS. His thick southern drawl may be a turn off to the West Coast, New England, and possibly the Midwest.

3) Running against Obama. The media will paint a Haley vs Obama as a referendum on racism. An old southerner vs a black marxist. The message will be “Does America want to move forward or turn back the clock?””

I agree with you, but the good news is Barbour is such an astute politician that if he decides to run he will have a plan to deal with these very issues. Obama was a little high and mighty about lobbyists not working in his administration, and considering all the waivers he has sought to date for lobbyists to work for him I think it will be very difficult for Obambi to successfully smear Barbour without it making The One look like a total hypocrite. Lastly, the media will have no standing to attack Barbour on this issue without opening a large can of worms for their saviour.

What in the world has Tim Pawlenty done to merit your consideration?

Tim Pawlenty won two contests for Governor of MN. If Pawlenty can actually carry MN in a Presidential race, then it would be an asset.

I’m not sure he can get MN conservatives to vote for him. I don’t speak for all MN conservatives, of course, but I think the mood of the country has shifted and there are a lot fewer of us who would now be amenable to voting the lesser of 2 evils going forward. We voted for McCain with reluctance because he had 1 huge redeeming quality known as Sarah Palin. Now, if I had to guage the mood, I would say that we’re not who we used to be. If you want a liberal, go liberal without us. If you want Democrat Lite, you can have that, too, but sans our blessing.

If Duncan Hunter runs again, he’s certainly got my vote! Palin is the only alternative I’ve given any thought to if Hunter isn’t running again. Have to wait and see if anyone else.

Never gonna vote for a Slick Willard aka Flip Romney, Tutti-fruity Rudy, Mike Huckaberry, Juan McLame or his little butt-boy Goober Grahamnesty but will encourage each to WALK THE PLANK back to the JACKASS party where they belong.

A senator hasn't beaten a sitting president since . . . forever. A senator (Harding) last beat a governor in 1920. No senators need apply for nomination in '12.

“Vote against all incumbents.”

Depends on who your incumbents are....If you have RINOs or JACKASSES, by all means. Gotta keep some conservatives (like Inhofe and Coburn in my state) in senior positions.

Don’t give up, diogenes ghost. They worked for fifty years for open primaries, no voter ID, early voting, and the oak tree seed. We can undo it the same way. I never said I thought it would be easy. On the contrary, it will be the fight of our lives, and I personally don’t expect to see any but the earliest small victories.

Are you unaware of the “new and improved” eminent domain law that the SC upheld a year or so ago. Eminent domain use to mean “for the public good” like, roads and dams.
Eminent domain today means they take your house, because a corporation wants to build a mall, and it’s good for the community because you can get more taxes out of the mall.
That was NOT what eminent domain was originally written for.

So tell me, do you support the local government taking your house, at a very low price and giving the property for commercial use so they can make more money off those taxes?

You really showed your butt for no reason, at least keep the conversation in line with the facts...

Barbour, vetoed the legislation so he could take property and give it to car companies to build plants. To increase the tax base. Hardly a public works road or dam.

I never said I was againest eminent domain, I’m againest the new and improved eminent domain.

Right. And Mississippi has some good ones but overall we need to get rid of a slew of the life time jerks.
Too many to list.
