Malia Obama – Budding Fashionista?
ABC News Blogs ^ | July 6, 2009 | Karen Travers, Sunlen Miller and Caitlin Taylor

Is Malia Obama following in the fashionista footsteps of her mother, First Lady Michelle Obama, and flashing designer duds?

For the flight with her family from Washington DC to Moscow, the 11-year old First Tween sported a skirt that bears a striking resemblance to one by designer See by Chloe.

The skirt is available for purchase online at Intermix, retails for $345 but is now on sale for $219.

The White House does not comment on the clothing choices of the First Daughters’ and would not confirm that the skirt was indeed by the designer.

If so, Malia, who just turned eleven this past weekend, may have inherited her mother's taste in sometimes expensive clothes. Most recently Mrs. Obama, who at times is also known to wear affordable J Crew, was seen sporting a pair of $540 kicks at a community service event at a DC food bank.

Eh.. we shouldn’t attack the daughters.

After all they’re just copying their mother.

I care about this at about the same level as Jacko faking his own death.

We should leave the children alone.

The families living out of their minivan will be so pleased to hear that our dear beloved Leader’s children are thriving in these desperate times ...

And for years I agreed we shouldn’t attack the children of political figures, until the Palin children were assaulted unmercifully. So the gloves are off in my book ... the libs have enjoyed unfettered commentary in their disgusting way. No more.

They look like a regular family in any town USA. The are not fashionistas..not even close. It’s actually one of the only things I can even say I like about them. But as I said in an earlier thread, I cannot stand the sycophantic press telling me that my eyes are wrong..that Michelle is a fashion trendsetter..she is far from it...and it looks like she doesn’t give a damn, either.

Exactly. Dig all the dirt we can on the idiot father, democrats, and mediatards who support them but the kids are 100% off limits.

If I had the character of a liberal slime-ball I could say disgusting things about this freak family. But I am not a liberal slime-ball.

Whatever blows your skirt. I think the girls are cute - I’m going to leave them alone. It’s bad enough that they must suffer having the Obamanations as parents.

The black community has a MAJOR focus on clothing. Very label conscious group. Nails, hair, clothes.

When my black daughter went to DC she was easily picked out of crowds of local blacks by retailers and others there because she didnt wear labels and she didnt wear her clothes two sizes too small.

“Your tax dollars at work.”

Why do you think the girl’s clothes are paid for by taxes?
