I think you're thinking of Peter King (R-NY). This is Steve King (R-IA). He's as strong a conservative as there is in the US House.

This is ridiculous. Steve King is not one with his finger in the wind. He's as conservative as you're going to get. You don't know the whole context in which this was taken. King never said he didn't want her to make a comeback.

King has excellent political instincts. He doesn't know any more than any one else if she'll make a comeback and he says so but he doubts it.
