The one part that doesn’t fit for me is why would a pregnant woman travel to Kenya to give birth? I’ve no doubt there is something on that BC that would embarass BO but I can’t get my mind around the travel to Kenya, especially in that era.

She went to meet Obama Sr’s family so the story goes—she was an 18 yr old kid, who knows what was in her head-—supposedly his family did not accept her, but she was too near labor to fly back before the birth.
The popular anti-Zero allegation is that Obama’s mama got pregnant in Kenya, and attempted near her due date to go to Hawaii to give birth. Some snafu kept her off the plane, and soon afterward she delivered baby Barack in Kenya. Then she caught another flight to Hawaii, taking baby Barack with, and had Barack’s birth registered there.
Obama could put paid to all this discontent in a moment by okaying the Hawaiian hospital to vouch that he was actually BORN there, if indeed he was. This guy is not just a buffoon but also a cruel joker if that is the story.
She probably didn't. But she may have flown to Canada to have the baby, with a promise to her parents to give it up for adoption, but then reneged on the bargain that got her back to the Seattle area where she started classes at U of Washington around 6 weeks after the alleged birth date of BHO. She attended the next 3 quarters there, returning to Hawaii about the time BHO Sr left for grad school at Harvard. He didn't return to Hawaii until BHO was about 12, and then not so much to visit BHO Jr as to make some political appearances related to the program which sent him to Hawaii in the first place.
Why Canada? Well a mixed race child, especially one with a black African father and lily white mother, would have been more adoptable and better accepted in Canada in 1961 than in the US, even in Hawaii, where mixed children were common, just not where part of the mix was African or even African American.
