ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) -- Sarah Palin's not a quitter, she wants the public to know.
"I am not a quitter. I am a fighter," Palin told CNN on Monday while on a family fishing trip, on the heels of her Friday bombshell announcement that she was resigning as Alaska's governor.
Palin did her interview standing on the shores of Dillingham, Alaska, wearing hip waders. She granted 10-minute interviews to CNN and three other news networks Monday.
She resigned because of the tremendous pressure, time and financial burden of a litany of ethics complaints in the past several months, she said. The complaints were without merit and took away from the job she wanted to do for Alaskans, Palin said.
The decision to resign a year and a half before her term ends, and her rambling, often-disjointed resignation speech Friday, fueled days of debate among political analysts.
Speculation has run rampant that Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008, will seek the presidency in 2012.
When pressed about her future, Palin would say only that she would work in public service. She did not rule out a run for the White House or any other political office.

Please. Abe Lincoln (1st Republican Prez) ran the country when the civil war was tearing it apart. Reagan faced down the Soviets at a time when they were on a roll, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, etc. Both Bushes acted decisively when faced with totalitarian regimes in the middle east. Clinton (much as I despise him) never buckled under pressure of impeachment. Even Ahnuld has decided - under intense pressure - to finally stand up to the hardcore Dems on the state budget.
Palin has a few muckraking investigations and a recession - and can’t handle it.
That’s not presidential material. In fact, she has apparently realized she’s not even governatorial material.

Well, I didn’t realize that news reporters got to grade the structure of a politicians speech.
I guess reporting the news is just boring...maybe the reporter should quit her job and become a Language Arts instructor.

The governorship of Alaska had a unique liability that none of these other posts did — it is possible under Alaskan law to literally bury a governor under the legal costs of completely meritless ethics complaints, and at the same time to cut the governor off from raising any funds to meet the costs. Federal law, blessedly, does not have such a wormhole in it. (Imagine the fate of George W. Bush if it did.)
Is there no video of the interview? She must have done well.
You’re misreading the situation. If you don’t believe me then ask yourself why they are still going after her even though she is stepping down. Clearly they are worried that Sarah CAN stand the pressure in the years to come. I think you should watch her speech again.
