What do you think is wrong right now with what President Obama is doing in particular?
President Obama is growing government outrageously, and it's immoral and it's uneconomic, his plan that he tries to sell America. His plan to "put America on the right track" economically, incurring the debt that our nation is incurring, trillions of dollars that we're passing on to our kids, expecting them to pay off for us, is immoral and doesn't even make economic sense. So, his growth of government agenda needs to be ratcheted back, and it's going to take good people who have the guts to stand up to him, stand up to him and debate policy, not personalities, not partisan politics, but policy to effect the change that we need there. And allow free enterprise and the industrious Americans who run our small businesses and want to raise a family, allowing our families to grow and prosper and thrive, Americans who still believe in those ideals to get in there and effect change. I want to work for people who believe in that.
Two of his big platform issues right now are universal health care and your favorite issue, energy, his global warming plan. What do you think of his positions on both?
His cap and trade agenda is a cap and tax agenda, and it's going to drive the cost of consumer goods and the cost of energy so extremely high that our nation is going to start exporting even more jobs to China and to other countries that do not have the corporate tax or the equivalent of the corporate tax that the cap and trade — I call it cap and tax — agenda is going to usher in.

Palin’s the only Republican who has the guts to call Zero’s policies for what it really is. FReepers who criticize her over her “lack of experience” or length in time in office are entirely missing the point.

The soon to be former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, is like one of those soufflés my mother sometimes made. The recipe warned against premature removal from the oven because the dish would collapse.
That is the saga of Gov. Palin. Prematurely plucked from relative obscurity by John McCain and touted as a rising star by many Republican conservatives, Palin collapsed. Though she was treated unfairly and in ways that no liberal woman would have been—not even Hillary Clinton—she clearly was not prepared to discuss the issues, the command of which—or least familiarity of which—are essential to anyone seeking national office.
Palin energized the shrinking Republican base, but could never get beyond them to connect with independents and conservative Democrats who might have taken her seriously had she displayed more seriousness. It is not enough to talk about what has been lost in America. One must speak of a vision for the future and ways to reach it.

If Palin is to have a future in national politics (assuming she wants one) there are several steps she must take. First, she needs a complete makeover. The big media will never admit they were wrong in their judgments, but they might write stories about the “new Sarah Palin.” She should hit the books and learn as much as she can about the modern world, history and court cases. She should read newspapers so that when future interviewers hit her with questions, she can dazzle them like a Jeopardy champion.
What she should not do is become a cable TV pundit. That’s too predictable. Instead, she might follow Ronald Reagan’s example and deliver a daily radio commentary. Radio takes the focus away from outward appearance and places it on the substance of what is said. She should write these commentaries herself, as Reagan did, and the outlets ought to include mainstream stations, as well as conservative and Christian ones.
Palin should hire a speech coach and follow that person’s advice. She has a pleasant enough speaking voice, but the tone needs to be adjusted, as do her word choices. “You betcha” should be banned from her vocabulary. Such slang may resonate well with some people, but national candidates should have rhetoric that soars and gets attention.
Lastly, she needs a hair, makeup, and wardrobe makeover. She is a beautiful woman, but appearance should not be the first thing one reacts to when people look at her.
There aren’t many second acts in politics because the media tend to gobble people up and constantly search for the “new” and exciting. Sarah Palin can be “born again” in a political sense and excite beyond her base if she allows herself to be “baked” at the proper temperature and for the right amount of time. If she does that, she may emerge again and this time she’ll rise, not fall.

Sarah is running for President. I have absolutely no doubts in my mind, and this move of hers was brilliant. Pundits will be talking about it for years to come, but it was absolutely brilliant.
Already last week she rejected outspokenly the Waxman-Markey cap and trade crap.

I've distanced myself from the rather vitriolic side of debate regarding Romney, so I must admit I'm not as expert on his politics as some others (pro and con), but from my lay experience on the matter, he certainly doesn't seem to be as conservative as Palin.
The primaries in 2008 were one thing. This is a whole new ball game. I cannot see any reason to hold onto any of the primary candidates from 2008; none of them (the ones who were prominent) hold a candle to Palin in terms of conservative credentials. Back in 2008 Romney's candidacy was arguable (again my relative ignorance on him must be taken into consideration here). However I don't see any reason to rehash those old debates when Palin’s conservatism cannot be questioned.
The only issue with her may be “experience”, but IMO, she's got plenty. Sure she resigned as Governor but, as far as I understand it, she had only one year left in her term. Also, the constant attacks by certain Alaskans questioning her “ethics” were making the task of administration difficult, I imagine. She didn't “quit” because of “pressure”, she resigned because it was in the state's best interest.
I suppose one could also criticize her interview style/presentation. So what if she isn't as polished as other politicians? Haven't we had enough of politicians that are too afraid to say anything without a prepared statement anyway?
For these reasons, I am amazed that anyone who would call themselves a conservative in the US today, given the state of politics today, would find a reason to dislike Palin. Have we learned nothing from the ‘08 primaries? Haven't we learned it's useless to cling to one’s favorite candidate when there is a clearly better choice? At least on FR, haven't we learned these lessons?

WOW, she really nails Obama in this article..NICE..A Republican who stands up against Obama, who wonder the libs are so damn scared of her, she speaks out against Obama while the rest of the GOP praises him and kisses his feet..LOVE the statement Cap and Tax..I hope Sarah goes after the So-called Republicans who voted yes. Sarah will bring REAL change
