NEW YORK - Two young women have been named best couple at their Bronx high school.
Seniors Vikky Cruz and Deoine Scott beat out two opposite-sex couples for the honor at Mott Haven Village Preparatory High School.

If what I hear from my sons (19 & 24) and their friends is true, most of the young women today are promiscuous (sluts) and guys aren't interested in them all that much.
Which means they're left with ... each other.
Could explain why they end up muff diving.

Years ago, I was watching something or another on TV that had two gay characters talking and one of them was complaining about exactly what you are talking about. Being attracted to men, he wanted a butch man but when he'd go into their bathrooms, he'd always find girly stuff and it would annoy him. If I had to speculate, I'd say that real gays and lesbians would prefer, respectively, butch men and girly women but the men who are butch and women who are girly aren't, respectively, gays and lesbians, so they work with what they've got. Of course that doesn't explain the gay men who go after adolescents who look androgynous or even girly. You might also find
this interesting.
