It was very nicely done and in good taste...

Whatever he was or wasn’t, his family and children loved him, and since I can relate to a Mother that lost her son, because mine did..I know the pain MJ’s mother has and a void that will never go away..

GOD Bless them in their healing...

Why would you say that abour Brooke?

She is stable married with 2 small children, she left acting for awhile to pursue her Bachelor’s. Takes care of her aging mother....

I think she is a breath of fresh air in her field, when you have the likes of so much dysfunction and vanity with celebrities who haven’t even reached 30.....

Perry Como had more #1 hits than Michael Jackson

Wow! He did bear a physical resemblance to “the Joker”, didn’t he.

It was on the same level as the Wellstone memorial - simply another chance for people who really don’t care about the deceased to perform on stage.

Thank you. I feel the same.

When my grandson was six years old, his father died unexpectedly. I know what those children must be going through. How sad. Michael was their daddy...whether they were adopted or biologically his...that was their daddy.

This is interesting...

Our “Lady Di” moment.

Please! Princess Diana was, for the most part, an interesting, classy person. I was saddened by her death. I certainly did not wish Michael Jackson ill, but his death meant no more to me than the death of anyone else. Even with the nonstop media coverage, I doubt that even half the population paid any attention to the funeral.

I kept noticing that as much as the media, in special reports and in “news” reports, kept trying to offer coverage of the MJ events in LaLa land, they were hard pressed to find any images of huge crowds, outside of or in the Staples Center, and so all their shots-images of “the public” were very constrained so that you never saw but a small segment at any time. It is clear if they WERE any HUGE crowds, in or out of the venue, the images would have made the “news”.

I thought the worst part was when the Jackson family used and abused MJ’s eleven year old daughter, making her speak to the public about what a good dad MJ was. Her family will not be able to shield her, forever, from the tawdry things her father kept from her. They will call it slander, but she may eventually learn how true it was.

“It was so staged and those kids have been so used.”

Wow...you sound like a liberal describing Sarah Palin’s family.

I watched about 2 mins of the coverage - saw some black guy say “I was his voice and his spine” - he actually said that and then reached up and adjusted the mic so everyone could see he was wearing a sequined white glove.

Gee, voice, spine, glove - what was left? Maybe there never was a Michael Jackson.

I can understand how you would feel that way on seeing her cry. I saw it differently, I think she was programed with those words and the crying was because she was scared to be in front of all those people.

Watch her aunt Janet keep telling her to speak up, speak up. If one of our children were to try to speak and start crying like that, we would simply take them away and spare them the trauma and embarrassment. This was a show and they used that little girl to promote the sympathy they could not get any other way.

"Our" proudest moment? Leave me outta that one, boss. If 10,000 people in LA decided to dance nekkid and howl at the moon I'd just as soon not be handed a fresh, steaming slice of guilt about it, thanks.

Show-biz kid, show-biz funeral. I want a keg at mine. At least my mourners, all three of 'em, will get a hangover out of the deal.

If you watched the memorial, that, obviously, was not planned. If it was planned, the child would have been front and center...she was not.

In fact, I noticed that Janet Jackson had her back to Paris and I felt sorry for the child. Then Janet noticed her standing there and held her hand to comfort her. That’s when Paris must have asked her if she could say something. They let her. It was touching.

Thanks for pointing this out. I was thinking that I was the only one who saw it.

It was a real cheap shot, especially to all the 98 and 1/2 % of good, faithful, hard-working “Irish” priests.

But what the heck—some journalists can’t seem to resist the chance to take a shot at their favorite, current scapegoat.

The Jackson family are money grubbers. They looked like the Nation of Islam with the sunglasses, gloves, suits and nasty scowls on their faces. Michael had Nation of Islam people running his affairs and Jermaine became a Muslim. I do find it disturbing when a pedophile goes to buy two or thrree white children. Madonna adopting African babies is disturbing but at least they are orphans.

These poor kids are being used and it was staged for TV ratings. A week before MJ died he was a disgraced pedophile and now he is America’s Lady Di (who was another airhead and bad parent), an icon and one of the greatest Americans. What a joke. Americans duped like they were duped by the media with Hussein.

Lady Di was another one who used the media and was used by the media. She and Charlie were selfish people and LOUSY parents. If she had been home with her kids insetad of cruising around Paris and high speeds with her Muslim boyfriend - she might be alive today. No seat belt at high speeds with a drunk driver - very sad but Darwin wins again.

her Muslim boyfriend

If this part of her life was something that had been there all along I would agree, but I don't think it was. Her image was quite something else, and all I knew about her was her image. Except for the nonsense about landmines, my recollection was that that image was pretty good.
