Not So Fast With Those Electric Cars
IBD Editorials ^ | July 7, 2009 | Investor's Business Daily

Alternative Energy: A government report says reliance on electric cars will do little to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and may merely shift our dependence on foreign sources from one set of dictators to another..."If you are using coal-fired power plants, and half the country's electricity comes from coal-powered plants, are you just trading one greenhouse gas emitter for another?" asks Mark Gaffigan, co-author of the GAO report. The report itself notes: "Reductions in CO2 emissions depend on generating electricity used to charge the vehicles from lower-emission sources of energy."

The obvious solution is to build vehicles with huge rear tires and small front tires. That way they are always going down hill. To keep them from reaching uncontrollable speeds install a generative braking system to generate electricity. The slower you drive the more power will be generated. I just can’t figure out how to transfer that electric power to the grid while the vehicle is moving. Gosh, how can I be so brilliant but be stumped by such a minor detail? I may have to call on Joe Biden for a solution.

I got the idea for this while I was contemplating Obama’s brilliant stimulus plan.

That’s exactly where I had in mind when I went to a friend’s funeral (actually to Post but via Sweetwater, etc.) a couple of weeks ago and speaking with folks that live at, near or under thost things.

Yeah. I went throught there in May. I hadn’t been through that area for about three years. I could not believe what they did. Someone should have said, “Enough already!” a few years ago.

Don't forget to always stop for hitchhikers at the tops of hills, and drop them off at the bottom. You get free use of all their potential energy.

I'd like a vehicle with four motor-generators at the corners of the vehicle, with a "fifth-wheel" motor-generator that cycles opposite to the drive wheels!

When the vehicle slows, the fifth wheel speeds up. When the vehicle takes off again, the fifth wheel slows down.

When you come to a stop at a traffic-controlled intersection, you can download your extra energy the way horses used to.

I have yet to hear anybody clearly finger our biggest energy problem; namely, eco-nuts. Where do they get the leverage they have over us? Can’t they just be ignored?

They are stealth funded by lots of rich liberals. Also much of the heavy lifting is done by groups that do not show a liberal ‘front’, they appear reasonable to the uninformed. Like Sierra Club. World Wildlife Fund. But lots of rich libs, especially hollywood and media ones, send a lot of money towards these groups under the radar. They also buy up huge tracts of land to take them off the market. They push for states and the federal government to set up land buying programs and once the state or feds have the land, they make it off limits.

every once in awhile the feds actually kill a holdout family that doesn’t sell to them. I remember a story out west where a guy had thousands of acres and wouldn’t sell, they trumped up something against him and raided his place in the middle of the night, and shot him while he was trying to arm himself to defend against intruders. Read it here or on rense.com.
