If the grassroots TEA Party movement could nominate a candidate for president, who would it be?

Palin essentially has to stage a coup and take over the GOP, clean it out top to bottom. A tall order for a little lady, but if there is anyone who can do it, it is Sarah Palin, and do it in time for 2012. She has the grassroots support, and the support of a few in the media, and some pretty big names Fred Malek, and Victor Davis Hanson. Now, she needs an organizational structure.

“Palin/Bachmann”

I am kind of leaning that way too, although I would worry about a ticket with two women. With our misogynist/leftist press, it could be quite brutal. I like Mike Pence very much and Demint..but they are ‘beltway’.

How bout Palin/Levin?

MARK LEVIN!! I would pay good money to watch him debate Biden....LOL!!

oh, get lost. it going to be... S A R A H ... P A L I N ... 2 0 1 2

This is how Palin reacts to the media "there is a double standard...a good point guard knows when to pass the ball"

This is how Quayle reacted "I wear their scorn as a badge of honor"

Hunter is a great one too, of course. I would first LOVE to see him defeat Ahnold!

Well, there’s some thoughts. We have to keep thinking and throwing out ideas; and perfecting our approach.

I just have to say, that I think that our duty as Americans is to see Obama voted OUT of office.

But first, we must limit his power, by taking congress away from the Democrats next year. This is where we need to focus all our efforts. We must focus on removing the democrats from power. The revolution must start in Congress. No more rubber stamp for Obama!

Can we do that, with a new party? I actually think we don’t need a new party. I think we need to promote truly non-partisan candidates; and I believe most people WILL support an INDEPENDENT candidate-over an affiliated candidate. I think the time is NOW! Not for a new party, but for a new way of running elections. A new way of doing things, with candidates who truly represent the people.

More like the team is looking to the leader, the team captain, for direction during the middle of a tough game; and the captain says, “don’t ask me! I quit. But, I still love the team, and will be cheering you on from the sidelines”

You should have caught it with the mention of steve-b. That was HILARIOUS! I almost spewed my drink.

"Perot had victory in the bag when he ducked out. Far too many people wouldn't support him afterwards because of it."

Exactly the trouble Sarah is going to have now that she has quit. I beg her to change her mind! It would be easier to fight charges of flip flopping, than charges of being a quitter. I heard she called Giuliani and Crist for advice. Of course they, like Steve Schmidt, are Republicans who do not have Sarah's best interests at heart. She outshines them, and is their greatest competition for the nomination! I believe they did not give her good advice.

It’s up to us ordinary barbarians to convince her (to run).

You have got to be kidding. You pretty much admitted that she quit and got run out of town on a rail by lettermen and the rest of the liberals. If she is a real leader, she won't let you or anyone else tell her to run or not to run.

No. I like it here, thanks.

Anyone who doesn’t like opposition, had better not talk about politics at all. Stick to sewing.

I just tend to be leery of the whole “personality cult” thing, whichever side it may be on.

Man, you've really got me confused here. What part of JimRob's "character" description at the beginning of this post has anything to do with personality? None of us that I'm aware of know anything about her personality.

We admire and support her because of her values and her positions on the issues.

Unlike Barry's "personality cult" worshippers, Sarah gets caught cheating on Todd or any other myriad of value changes or policy shifts away from true conservatism and she is TOAST with us. I am sure HG that you understand this.

If she can navigate her way through the GOP flak layer, get armored up to deflect the minefields no doubt to be set by the Dims and the SRM, bulldoze her message through the fog of war(and yes it is war), AND, this is critical: actually help some conservative candidates in 2010...

Before all is said and done, we may owe the restoration of the Republic to this lady. May God clear her a path.

It’s the tone of her supporters that bothers me.

She isn’t the second coming of Jesus, y’know.

Opposition is great. Defeatism is pointless.
While I agree with you that we need “regular joes” in Congress, a “regular joe” is not going to win a Presidential election. (I wish I could have voted for Fred.)
Sarah is so far the closest thing to a “regular joe” I've seen on the national stage for quite some time.
So the liberals hate her. Why does that matter?
Regardless of who the Republicans nominate, the libs won't vote for them anyway.
Lots of libs liked McCain. How many do you think voted for him?
