The fear on the street is palpable.

Ever since the election of Barack Obama as President of these United States in November 2008, coupled with the election of a democrat party majority in both the U.S. House and Senate, concern for the United States and personal safety has ignited like a fire in dry grass. Sales of guns – black guns, rifles, shotguns and handguns (particularly 9mm) everywhere, have gone through the roof.

AR15s have literally flown off of dealer shelves, and only now in the spring of 2009, have I seen the display samples of ARs begin to reappear on the wall of my favorite shooting emporium after the initial post election rush.

What is odd about this new fear is that it is not coming from the average citizen gun owner out there, but it is coming from what to me is an almost shocking source: street cops. Street cops and SWAT cops that I know from various agencies – rural, suburban and metro – in my area are scared.

1. Hordes of un-employed middle class white folks breaking into homes and stealing stuff to pawn to keep their kids in Abercrombie and Fitch clothing.

2. Luxury deprived bond-daddies breaking into homes and stealing whiskey, alcohol, and prescription drugs.

3. Lecherous republican leaders, who now bereft of power want to break in and steal our women folk.

LEOs should be scared. They are "caught in the middle". They may be trying to decide whether they will "turn theirs in" when the time comes but more importantly they had best be deciding which side they are on and how to make that clear to those of us who have already decided we won't be turning a damn thing in. It is truly a dilemma and one I wouldn't care to be in. How can they keep from becoming targets when the day comes?

I have other friends that are issued ARs or subguns for tactical team use, who always have their gear with them and are planning on just commandeering these weapons for personal use in defending hearth and home.

Golly I sure hope all those LEO friends of his remember to fill out all the ATF paperwork, get their Chief to sign off on the forms, wait a year for their fingerprints to get processed, and pay the $500.00 per weapon tax just like the rest of us serfs have to.

Oh, I forgot. They're cops. So they don't have to obey all those pesky laws they quite happily use to slam ordinary citizens into prison for.

It also occurs to me that if the author of this piece is indeed an LEO, he's just admitted that he has knowledge of a criminal conspiracy to violate Federal Firearms laws thus becoming an accessory before the fact.

I sure hope this putz gets a little visit from the ATF...
