I'm a libertarian when it comes to free speech. Although I would never write such things as these racial slurs, I defend the right of anyone to post anything they want. No one has the right not to be offended. There are many posts on FR that offend me, and most of them are addressed to me; however, once we start down this road of banning offensive speech, where will it end? The only limitation should be if someone actually threatens the life of someone. That violates the other person's right of free speech.

Free speech means only that government cannot make the promotion of a particular viewpoint illegal.
Free Republic is under no such obligation to give a forum to racist sentiment under the rubric of free speech.

Are you advocating that one engaging in “free speech” has a right for that speech to be heard beyond their ability to deliver it, if that is your position then you are infringing on the rights of others, whither it is a bulletin board at the local laundry mat or this forum, to control what they have created.
Your right to free speech does not require me/or anyone else to give you a platform to deliver it.
