Human-Chimp Similarities: Common Ancestry or Flawed Research?

by Jeffrey Tomkins, Ph.D.*

In 2003, the human genome was heralded as a near-complete DNA sequence, except for the repetitive regions that could not be resolved due to the limitations of the prevailing DNA sequencing technologies.[1] The chimpanzee genome was subsequently finished in 2005 with the hope that its completion would provide clear-cut DNA similarity evidence for an ape-human common ancestry.[2] This similarity is frequently cited as proof of man's evolutionary origins, but a more objective explanation tells a different story, one that is more complex than evolutionary scientists seem willing to admit...

You mean like ‘Evolution’ is a ‘fact’ of ‘science’?

‘E Coli’ is a ‘fact’ of ‘science’

‘photosynthesis’ is a ‘fact’ of ‘science’

‘mental instability’ is a ‘fact’ of ‘science’

‘erectile disfunction’ is a ‘fact’ of ‘science’.

Hey, this is fun.

Please explain ERV data, as biologists see it; then tell me where they went wrong.

Your claim that the many scientists using ERV data to establish common descent are all wrong because you refuted it on the Internet is amusingly delusional as you have not even shown that you understand what you are attempting to refute.

Evolution would allow for that... creation not so much.

Yes, it is a fact of science - sort of.

So is Erectile Dysfunction - whatever that means - I don’t have it. On the other hand, most Democrats walk around in a permanent state of Erectile Non-Dysfunction. That is what makes them what they are.

If proof were the end of the story we would not not need appeal courts and all scientists would agree.

“I am a scientist who believes in God.”

The question is, are you a scientist who believes in God AND evolution? If so, you don’t believe the Bible.

“I believe in God, the scriptures and evolution..”

You mean you believe “selected verses” of Scripture for it is obvious you don’t believe Genesis.

More racist crap comparing Africans to apes?

We don’t need more of that idiocy here.

Go sell that drivel elsewhere.

Every Evo must send a certain organ on permanent vacation to become a full fledged member of the Temple of Darwin cult. Here's a hint:

Bon Voyage!

How is that racist crap? Darwinists and those with no faith in God believe that we descended from apes. Pres. Obama is highly educated and it would be worth asking his opinion. You sure are touchy. BTW, I am black.

To: rabidralph

It is quite common among racists to compare someone of African descent to an ape. If you are indeed black you would not be unaware of this salient fact.

Does the Pope have no faith in God? The Pope said that evolution is a fact which enriches our understanding of life and being. Perhaps you are unaware that most Christian denominations have no problem at all with belief in evolution.

And the more educated someone is, especially in science, the less likely they are to be a Creationist; making Creationism the refuge of the ignorant.

So are you saying that black people did not descend from apes? That would make me less human than whites—maybe 3/5ths human.

All people descended from apes and all are related to apes to the exact same degree.

As to the 3/5ths jibe, a person was not counted as 3/5ths because they were Black, only if they were a slave. A free person, regardless of race, was counted as 1 person for purposes of apportionment of political power. And a slave, regardless of race, was counted as 3/5ths.

And the tragedy is not that they counted as 3/5ths, but that they would be counted at all for apportionment of political power.

The Senator from a slave state DID NOT represent the interests of their slave constituents to the same degree that a Senator from a free state represented the interests of their free constituents.
