Correct observation.
They are totally about subjection of everyone else.
I think we could Quarantine most of ours within the Austin City Limits.
These guys do not realize what they are contemplating. Obozo is nothing American and has no comprehension of what “being American” is.
I truly think they will implode because of failures on the economy before any of this transpires. However they know they are in trouble and that is why they are hurrying the legislation through.

500 $ Taurus .44 magnum revolver. Good against bears and bad guys.
550 $ .40 cal Springfield Armory XD40 auto pistol. Super easy to fire, good against bad guys.

Mossberg 500, 12gauge That's the hardware, don't forget to suggest appropriate "software". 00 buck, slugs, etc.

Okay then.....there are dozens of threads on this subject. Everybody props their own choices. Read up on it, figure out what you need it for and then go hold them. You will know what works best for you. I think you can even rent them and practice shooting them at a range before you decide.

If you have never owned a firearm, it would be better to vist a local shop to handle a few to see what you like.
For beginners I usually recommend a 20 gauge defensive shotgun for around the house. Cost $250-$400

To carry with you an Ruger LCP 380 is a sweet little blaster. It is very lightweight and accurate the price has gone up but I think you can still get one for under $400. In your home well I suppose you will get all kinds of opinions. Glock 9 is a nice gun in my opinion.

I hate to say it but I suspect it will break down largely along racial lines. It wont be 100% racial but very heavily skewed on race and/or ethnicity. You've been watching too much Gangland on the History Channel.

The perennial question. I own handguns; lotsa’ fun. But in the clinch the Mossberg 590A1 12 gauge pump shotgun is man’s best friend. Two hands are better than one!

Anyone have any idea as to the numbers and military power equivalent of the federal officers? : Number of Special Agents as of March 2006? 12,515
Normal best weapon level? Small arms M-16. They do have heaver hardware but not enough FBI SWAT to really count.
Other fed Agencies, probably about the same.

I wish FreeRepublic would accept firearm advertising. Great comments mixed with gun photos - ah, that’s freedom.

Gun sales have really slacked off here. We are starting to get AR's on regular basis, Noticed the same thing, maybe now would be a good time to encourage newbies to stock up
It looks like prices on AR's(Sport Utility Rifles) have leveled off and coming down.
As I've said on other threads, even if you're planning on reselling privately, it's a good time to buy.

"But the value of military-style rifles such as the AR-15, a semi-automatic civilian variant of the US militarys fully-automatic M-16, had increased by at least 25 per cent."
Imagine that, even the foreign press who have less experience with firearms than our useful idiots understand the difference between the civilian "assault weapons" and the military equivalents.
To: taxtruth
"I wonder what side the military will be on in an open conflict with the feds?"
Remember, our military takes their oath to the constitution, not any federal agency or person. Also, the military officers understand posse commetatus. I know it was passed into law during the 1870's (or somewhere around there), but it is totally in keeping with the views and thoughts of the founding fathers.

We finally have one of the new Ruger AR’s, the gas-piston mechinsm. Very well made, and looks sharp. My only criticism is the use of the Mini-14 flash hider. If Ruger blocked the lower 3 vents, it would look very sharp.
