Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) delivers his opening statement at the confirmation hearing of Judge Sonia Sotomayor. He was interrupted once by a protester.
Franken told Sotomayor that she was "the most experienced Supreme Court nominee in 100 years." He said her story is inspirational and one in which "all Americans should take great pride in."

Hyperbole thy name is Franken.
Still hasn't figured out he's not supposed to be a comedian up there.
As I figured, he read is statement. This guy doesn’t have an original thought in his head. What experience does he have to even be sitting there. He knows nothing about our Judicial system.
I think I’m gonna lose my shrimp fried rice! Maybe I should say “loose” my lunch!
Does anyone doubt that this country is kaput with these clowns in charge of legislation?
100 years? Dear God!
The Gopher state must be extremely proud today of their most experienced senator to have stolen an election in the past 100 days.
Yeah, being advanced and then appointed solely because of your sex and ethnicity, that's something to really be proud of.
What a tool, Al
Sonia repeat after me, I deserve to be a Supreme Court judge
“Because I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggonit, people like me!”
Like he actually knows the judicial records and histories of ANY of the nominees for the Court in the last 100 years.
What’s this jackass doing on the Judiciary Committee anyway?
Thus quoth he, the most inexperienced and unqualified candidate for the Senate in the last 100 years - and that is saying a lot!
He lost me at “hello”
Franken told Sotomayor that she was “the most experienced Supreme Court nominee in 100 years.”
No Al, it has not been 100 years since the Bork nomination.
Then again, we’ve learned that counting is not Franken’s strong suit.
Piss off, Al, you corrupt, illegitimate stealer of elections.
What the hell does frankenfraud know about supreme court nominees. This idiot couldn’t find his back side with both hands, a flashlight and a roadmap. Oh wait, he is a dim. Sorry.
As a (fairly recent) MN resident, I had always had the consolation of knowing that even though MN votes left, we’re smarter than other leftists, at least in that we have enough sense to keep Dem. would-be Governors the hell away from the State purse. Now, with the installation of Al Franken in the US Senate, I no longer have that consolation.
Did someone change his diaper first?
What’s the latest odds on whether he will realize he is not talking on SNL or do you think someone has to tell him?
