The Lewis and Clark Expedition's exploration of the American West from 1804 to 1806 was a seminal event in the history of the Pacific Northwest, a fact reflected in the region's place names.

Much of this regional enthusiasm for the two explorers can be traced back to 1905, when the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition was held in Portland. The organizers of this world's fair, the first on the Pacific Coast, celebrated the explorers' role in extending the nation's territorial claims and in opening up a commercial passage between east and west.

Today, The Oregon Historical Society and Museum celebrates Oregon's rich history.

Hiya Beachie!!

After a rather rainy Sunday, we finally have our summer weather back.

This weekend 3 friends and I are heading out to the coast for a boys weekend out. Nothing dramatic, just old friends throwing horseshoes and sipping on a few adult beverages.

And yes, I did get permission from Mrs. Pro. :=)

Thanks, beach!

Another tip.....

Aluminum Foil TIP

Was this something we were supposed to learn from our Mom’s?????

I can’t believe it’s been there all this time.

I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself.

Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it, and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end.

Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place.

How long has this little locking tab been there?

I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too.

I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too!

I can’t count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out, when I was trying to cover something up. I’m sharing this with my friends. I hope I’m not the only person that didn’t know about this.

I know you’re going to go and check your boxes, so go ahead!

Good morning, Pro. Sounds like you've got a nice weekend planned. Kudos for getting permission ;).

Going to a cookout this weekend. A combo anniversary (former inlaws) & 3 birthday boyz (2 belong to me - LOL). My oldest will be 39 - UGH!

Good morning, CMN

((HUGS))

Hot, Ugh! But, as you say, it’s not too humid so it makes it feel better out there. I guess it’s pool time!

Actually, I had Ms. unique verify it - it's true and she didn't know it - ALL her friends didn't know it. I checked myself - it's printed on both ends with a tab to push in to lock the tube.
