A man who tried to kidnap two 5-year-old girls was beaten Saturday night by two bystanders who witnessed the abduction attempts, Tacoma police said Monday.
Officers arrested the 45-year-old man on suspicion of trying to kidnap the girls, who had been playing with some other children in the 500 block of South L Street about 7 p.m.
Police said the man, apparently intoxicated, was walking on the sidewalk on L Street when he grabbed the first girl. She kicked her way free, and the man tried to grab another 5-year-old girl, police said. She, too, got away.
As the man tried to flee, two men who had been sitting in a nearby truck got out and severely beat the man, police reported. All three then left, police said.
The two girls told their parents what happened and officers found the first man in the 200 block of South J Street. Hed suffered a head injury and was stitched up at a local hospital before being booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree kidnapping.
*sniff*
I love a happy ending
If the perv-perp left after the beating, he wasn't beaten nearly severely enough.
More of this ... good thing.
Hopefully no charges or lawsuits will be filed against these two heros. Any POS lawyer who might file a lawsuit against these two needs the same “treatment”
He’s lucky to be alive. Unfortanately, the perp will sue...
Hopefully they won’t be charged with battery on the perp.
I think the headline writer has a fundamental misunderstanding of the definition of the word “bystander.”
Glad it turned out positive...but, the question remains....what are two 5 year old girls doing wandering the streets??? Especially in this area of Tacoma (if I remember correctly, this isn’t the best area of town.)
Haa haa! Yes!
(squeeky voice)"THAT'S the way to doooo it!"
Sad thing is in our topsy-turvy world should the abomination known as hate crimes pedophile protection bill get passed in the Senate, the perp would have walked, and the two men protecting those little girls would have committed a felony and facing a prison sentence.
The way it used to be. Adults PROTECTING children.
They should have beat him to death. Then resuscitated him so that he could sit in jail and remember it.
But alas... he will go through the revolving door and be out by morning.
Yes. Now he’ll be released to make the attempts again.
I wish I could shake their hands.
Perhaps you could read all the way to the second sentence of the article.
There is justice in Tacoma. This creep should never be let out of prison.
