Bloggers have taken to calling Jamie Gorelick The Mistress of Disaster and with good reason.
As Deputy Attorney General under President Clinton, she penned the infamous wall memo that prevented intelligence agencies from sharing information in the run-up to September 11.
After leaving the Justice Department, she headed over to Fannie Mae, where as vice-chair she helped wreck the American economy.
From Fannie Mae, Gorelick careened back to the less than useless 9-11 Commission, whose mission she did her best to subvert.
Few bloggers, however, have asked why Fannie Mae handed a middling bureaucrat with no financial or housing experience a sinecure that the Washington Monthly called the equivalent of winning the lottery.
Or why House Democrats invested one of their five 9-11 Commission slots in a mortgage executive with little or no intelligence experience.
Or why Gorelick gave up a $4 million a year on-average gig to join the 9-11 commission?
All three questions lead to the same answer, Gorelicks role in the investigation of TWA Flight 800, the 747 that blew up off the coast of Long Island in July 1996.
Tomorrow, July 17, we mark the 13th anniversary of that event and remember the 230 souls whose deaths official DC has conveniently forgotten.

Gorelick SHOULD be in PRISON.
Amen to that. The A** Wipe of the Greatest Proportions.
The entire 9/11 Commission was designed to protect the Clinton administration from their well deserved blame.
That she was anywhere near the commission was inexcusable.
SHE BELONGS IN PRISON
And she’s not the only one of the Clinton administration who ought to have been prosecuted.
I suspect all the Clintonistas in the O administration are there to protect the bubbas and their regime from honest scrutiny.
Wowsers, I never believed the "mechanical failure story about Flight 800, but hadn't heard or seen anything about this!!
I agree with a previous poster who said that Gorelick should be in prison . . . . . . . charged with MURDER!!!!
Very interesting.
And every now and then along comes a new high in the examples of how far down the slippery slope we've gone. Right now it's the ‘birther’ thing.
The Clinton’s made sure nothing worked.
Only folks actually prosecuted in the Flight 800 fiasco were a couple of reporters who stole fabric samples and had them TESTED for explosive residue.
Yep, they found it, too.
YES!!!
They certainly set the stage and put everything in motion. Sadly, GWB did nothing to reverse their perverse effect on government and America, just left it in a holding pattern. Along comes Team-Obama and they mutter the magic incantation to wake up the evil spirits that had been in hibernation. It's like a the plot of one of those old horror movies where the evil is never destroyed, only held at bay.
Dubya was done in by his own character. He is an honest man and as such never considers the possibility that others aren't and will actually use his honesty against him. He never recovered from the culture shock of leaving Texas and going to DC. He also never took into consideration that the enemy would stop at nothing to defeat him.
The America that once led the world is under attack on so many fronts. It's a full-court press with the clock running out. Unless, and until, millions of us rise up and demand a return to our Constitutional roots it will only get worse, culminating in our destruction.
One by one they're cutting off the legs of the three-legged stool that has been America. Our economy, our faith and our military are being destroyed right before our very eyes.
I don't know the answer. I just hope I will be able to recognize it when it comes along. Right now Sarah Palin seems to be fitting the mold.
..
Add FRANKLIN RAINES to that !

Did Gorelick Ride TWA 800 To Fannie Mae Millions?

Is she as rambling and incoherent for AIPAC, as she has been on the eligibility issue?
