A heartless kitty killer hissed angrily at animal rights activists Wednesday, grinning widely as she took credit for stuffing the helpless pet into a 500-degree oven.

"It's dead, bitch!" snapped an unrepentant Cheyenne Cherry, sticking her tongue out after a plea bargain that will put her behind bars for a year in the May 6 killing of tiny Tiger Lily.

Actually, once I read the whole story I realized that her crimes were more than just the killing of a kitten. I'm sure she'll be completely reformed after a year in prison... NOT!

Missing from this story is that aside from the BB gun robbery, Cheyenne Cherry also robbed a man at gunpoint for his iPod. Nothing ever became of that charge.

Also, she plead down felony arson to an animal cruelty charge.

Seriously now, what the hell goes on in New York? Is it so rotten there that they simply can't afford to lock up every felony arsonist and two-time armed robber until such times comes that they kill a kitten?

If Miss Cherry was out where I live, she'd be in an adult prison out in a remote part of the state that looks very much like Mars doing 10-14 years at least -- presuming that she survived her two robbery attempts.

Killing animals for food, in self-defense, or because they are pests is perfectly moral. Animals have no rights.

However, when a person is needlessly cruel to an animal, he or she is derelict in his or her duty to God to be a responsible steward of animal life, and thus makes himself or herself less of a human being and more of a devil.

In a little village in Viet Nam that I visited a few years ago, in an area that had just recently been opened to Western tourists, they eat cat once in the first half of the lunar month, and dog in the 2nd half. (I may have gotten which was to be eaten when backwards).

I don’t disagree that great injustices are done every day, over human on human crimes. Those injustices—by lack of punishment—do not make this girl’s punishment unfair however. Leniency (or even injustice) for one, doesn’t mandate leniency for another, as true justice is on a case by case basis; this girl is getting less than she deserves, IMHO.

It’s a fact that psychopathic murderers of people almost always start with the torture and killing of helpless animals. Time in prison—with psychological counseling—may keep her from doing much worse.
