How much does the House Democrats’ health care overhaul cost? Is it $1 trillion or $1.6 trillion?
Democrats argue the number should be $1 trillion, a number provided by the Congressional Budget Office for the net cost of the portion of the bill affecting health insurance, and they boasted in press releases that the bill actually creates a $6 billion surplus over the coming decade.
But the gross cost of the bill is much higher, more than $1.6 trillion, according to a Roll Call analysis of the CBO data. And despite more than $800 billion in tax and fee hikes, it actually adds $239 billion to the deficit, according to the CBO.

Dean Heller, R-Nev., that would have prevented illegal aliens from receiving government-subsidized health care under the proposed plan backed by House Democrats and President Barack Obama.

Many of these folks, vets, the businessowners of yesteryear, paid much of their lives into the Social Security System. As a generation, they and the Greatest Generation paid the most. But the piggy bank was broken several times to pay for this or that, like, e.g., Bosnia under the Toon, so the money to have been safeguarded and invested is gone. Stolen, actually. Sorry, Grandma, Grandpa, Mama, Papa, we need you to go quietly. You’re inconvenient, expensive to our lifestyle and you have little added value to give us anymore.
Having gone through some real fights with relatives about older people dying in the last few years, I know now my decency and joy in caring for my elders is a road not taken in this ‘plan.’

Based on the previous successes capping other benefit programs, we can all be certain that gov’t health care would NEVER climb past these initial estimates. Government programs are always constrained and never escape their leashes.
If the government says $1 trillion, I immediately think the REAL cost is $10 trillion. Why would be believe ANYTHING they say?
