BANGKOK -- The Obama administration is consulting with allies on a new "comprehensive package" of incentives aimed at persuading North Korea to abandon its nuclear programs, senior U.S. officials confirmed Tuesday.
The officials, who are traveling with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Thailand, told reporters that the package is only in its early stages and will not be offered to North Korea unless and until the allies sign off on it. Pyongyang would also have to first take specific, concrete and "irreversible" steps to begin destroying its arsenal of nuclear weapons.

I know the kind of “package” I want the US to give to North Korea
I know it seems kind of silly but it as if Obama has no clue who are friends are and who our enemies are. He reaches out to our enemies and our competitors with incentives and criticizes and pressures our allies, our natural allies, and our friends.
Before long we’ll have a world filled with former allies and former friends and our enemies will still be our enemies. (That’s why they call them enemies.)
Fact: Incentives didn’t work the first, second, third, or fourth time they were tried.

I am the only person here who remembers we did this under Clinton and it didn’t work? We, South Korea and Japan provided North Korea with nuclear reactors to generate electricity, and threw in huge amount of fuel oil; North Korea “promised” to conform to nonproliferation rules, get rid of its spent fuel rods, international inspections, etc. We honored our part of the bargain, they didn’t. Why are we doing this again. And surely Mrs. Clinton should remember what happened. The only way to deal with these people is to shut down their money, shut down their access to their money like Bush did with their Malayasian bank account, and which I seem to remember brought them to heel for a time.
Obama I wil give you an incentive!! GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY!
