FReepers, pursuant to the actions of the Democrats in trying to block healthcare info sent to constituents by denying the franking privilege to the GOP, I made a call to the office of Congressman Kevin Brady(R-TX). Brady created the chart that the Dems don't want people to see.
I discussed with the staffer, who was the point man on the effort, that Brady needs to lead the effort for the public to send in stamps to pay for the mailing. If done correctly (is our side really capable of doing that?), it could be a coup in the media to both get out the info and show that the Dems tried to block it. The staffer loved the idea and will present it to his boss. After we give our money to the FReeperthon, maybe we have an extra 10 bucks to pay for postage?

Democrats Block GOP Health Care Mailing (Marxism is alive in well in the Democrat Party) rollcall ^ | 7/23/09 | Jackie Kucinich

Democrats are preventing Republican House Members from sending their constituents a mailing that is critical of the majoritys health care reform plan, blocking the mailing by alleging that it is inaccurate. House Republicans are crying foul and claiming that the Democrats are using their majority to prevent GOP Members from communicating with their constituents.
The dispute centers on a chart created by Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and Republican staff of the Joint Economic Committee to illustrate the organization of the Democratic health care plan.
At first glance, Bradys chart resembles a board game: a colorful collection of shapes and images with a web of lines connecting them.
But a closer look at the image reveals a complicated menagerie of government offices and programs that Republicans say will be created if the leading Democratic health care plan becomes law.
In a memo sent Monday to Republicans on the House franking commission, Democrats argue that sending the chart to constituents as official mail would violate House rules because the information is misleading.
In their eight-point memo, which was obtained by Roll Call, Democrats identify a litany of areas where they believe the chart is incorrect.
For example, Democrats argue that the chart depicts a Health Insurance Exchange Trust Fund that is simply a recipient of IRS funds, with no outflow. ... This is false.
The charts illustration of low-income subsidies is also misleading and false, Democrats argue.
Congressional rules for franked mail bar Members from using taxpayer-funded mail for newsletters that use partisan, politicized or personalized comments to criticize legislation or policy.

Right in the middle there are two boxes with ‘Office of Minority Health’ and ‘Office of Civil Rights’. I’d like to suggest an ‘Office of Majority Health’. After all, it’s the majority (those working) who will be paying for all the ‘free’ health care.
I simply disagree.
That tactic would give the media the opportunity to dismiss it as a fringe element. Most people in America think the whole netroots/grassroots thing is BS. You want to convince people - lets not have it being sent from some random anonymous or misnamed PAC - let it come from the GOP under their banner, and let them be willing to stand up take the heat and engage the debate.
This needs to be mainstream - from the party - with the resources and contacts available at the national level.
Let Steele prove himself and the GOP worthy of their constant requests for donations to the party for once.
I’m afraid that waiting for this GOP leadership to grow a spine and wake up from its nap will give us Obama in 2012, Obama in 2016, and so forth and so on. It’s a sad commentary that the biggest stones in the GOP are on a woman that the leadership takes every opportunity to mock, dismiss, and belittle. They have all the ammo they need in folks like Rush and Sean and Mark, and they still run and hide, crawled up in a fetal position under their desks whenever Pelosi speaks or they are challenged by the MSM. I sincerely wish this was an option, but nothing I see at the top gives me hope. Fact is GOP’s greatest moments have come from movements and people at odds with the leadership. Goldwater, from the great state of AZ, was a burr in the ass of the eastern establishment. But you can trace the line from Goldwater to Reagan. And maybe we will one day be tracing that same line to Sarah Palin or some other outlier who is greeted by the tittering and turned up noses is out there waiting to speak directly to the people, right over the heads of the GOP establishment and the MTM, much to their anger and frustration.
is there a reason why the repubs cannot walk out of the capitol building and their offices, go to the nearest post office, buy bunches of stamps, put those stamps on the mail and hand them to the clerk at said post office?
Count me in for sending a roll of stamps. Just ping me wiht an address to send it to.
***Send the flowchart out via email with a note saying the GOP was bared from mailing this to you by the Dems. Thy do not want you to see what they are trying to force upon Americas.***
And call the flowchart THE FORBIDDEN CHART WHICH OBAMA DOESN’T WANT YOU TO SEE.
***I got a letter from the White House yesterday replying to
the letter I sent concerning healthcare. But I have not
sent any letters to the White House since GWB. There was
money to use old lists and send out his own propaganda.***
THEY ARE UNBELIEVABLE!
Let it be a “leak” like the Dims like to do. oops LOL
The RNC or a 401c-3 could send it out too and they don’t need permisso from La Douche speaker..
