Dear Mr. Klein [president of CNN],
As an important and respected news organization, CNN has a special responsibility to ensure the accuracy of its reporting. We have written to you before about our concern that Lou Dobbs repeatedly fails to live up to this standard in his reporting on immigration. Now, Mr. Dobbs is again trading in falsehoods and racist conspiracy theories, questioning President Obama's American citizenship.
On the July 15 edition of "Lou Dobbs Tonight," Mr. Dobbs questioned the official certificate provided by the president and the State of Hawaii and complained that President Obama has not made public the "original document." On his radio program, Mr. Dobbs has repeatedly questioned the president's fitness for office, demanding he "show the documents" and, at one point, jokingly suggesting President Obama may be "undocumented."
The truth about the president's birth is not in dispute. It has been verified by Factcheck.org, among many other serious news organizations, and his official birth documents have been made public. CNN itself has repeatedly reported on the falsity of the claims of the "birthers," and the network's esteemed legal analyst, Jeffrey Toobin, recently called those claims "a joke." As you know, even Mr. Dobbs' frequent fill-in anchor, Kitty Pilgrim, debunked the birthers on the July 17 edition of Mr. Dobbs' own CNN show. The fact that Mr. Dobbs suggests otherwise on CNN — while real CNN reporters tell the truth — is both deplorable and an embarrassment to all serious journalists.

We all know about the SPLC, so simply running them down here is not going to do a bit of good.
If you want to do something about this you have to show those who might believe them that they're lying. Simply preaching to a choir here will not do that. And, you have to make sure that you don't help the SPLC either. Shouting, "HE WAS BORN IN KENYA!" helps the SPLC. Speculating without basis in fact helps the SPLC. Discussing legal arcana helps the SPLC.
What I need you to do is to point out to others that many MSM sources have lied about this issue. I need you to just concentrate on discrediting them by pointing out their lies. You can find some of those listed in my coverage of this issue.
After you've reviewed my coverage and after you understand what my argument consists of and what it doesn't consist of, please go to the sites listed here and point out how they're wrong.
That's a very effective way to fight back, but you have to do it in an effective way. Your goal should be to discredit sources like the SPLC, not help them.
Actually, this is not true. I don't know about the SPLC. I hesitate to click on the link because visiting these liberal sites cranks up their web stats and I would prefer not to do this. Could you please tell us what "SPLC" is?

Avoid abstract ideas and appeal instead to the emotions
The American people voted for Obama lets just move on. The birthers are just a bunch of “crazy” people.
Constant repetition of just a few ideas, using stereotyped phrases and avoiding objectivity
He released his birth certificate. How many times are we going to go over this?
Put forth only one side of the argument
Note Gibbs never refers to the “birth certificate” that Barack refuses to release just the “birth certificate” that was released on the internet. How convenient, because it creates confusion to the uninformed.
Constantly criticize enemies of the state
The “birthers” are just sore losers, “we won.”
Identify one special enemy for special vilification

So can we do away with the courts now and just use factcheck.org as the arbitrator of truth and justice?
It is extremely simple to resolve. Simply show us the actual long form birth certificate with the doctors signature along with the other details of his actual birth. These people must have no sense of integrity because it is blatantly obvious that all he needs to do is release it but yet they zig and zag and challenge any attempt to see it. Lies on more lies...
they'll have to fire him.
However, I don't think they will because all of the controversy will drive up their ratings.

Southern Poverty Law Center is a hate group with ACORN like status. They have been promulgating hate ever since they found out it was profitable.
If these folks are upset about birthers, then there is truth in the Kenya story.
Notice they just say "certificate" - they don't say what type of certificate. That's pretty telling.
